Participantthen yea…small bicycle chain through the eyelets should suffice.

ParticipantUmmm…. please don’t take this the wrong way……but seriously?! Unless that thing is hard plastic locking the cover is like locking the door on a Jeep Wrangler. Serves absolutely no point. Any asshole with a pocket knife (and bet if they are planning to take your bike it will be close at hand) will render the locked cover useless. IF your using it to just keep the wind from blowing it up…bungey cords work wonders.

ParticipantUmm….elwood…anything?
Fine…. lol….just watch elwoods videos in the the appropriate section, he’s likes the attention….lol, kiddinMunch
ParticipantOh yea forgot to mention another tactic I have been known to pull… Get the guy rearin to go … rev a few times if you must….keep the excitement all the way up to the green light… then dart over to the side of the road and report the “DA” kid to the local LEO as a wreckless driver. Make sure to get make and model as best you can along with paint and tags. Funny to see their faces as you cruise on by with a wave. Oh yea…. not to mention you won the race

Participant1300 miles is not enough to clutch. Even if they claim it as a wear and tear item even those have a warranty of sorts. Sounds like the dealership is being lazy and has nothing to do with Kawi. I talk a lot with the service manager at a local dealer….the one I bought both of my bikes from . Some of the things he has done some times twice because Kawi paid for it…even knowing it was rider neglect blows my mind. I would say try another dealer or shop that deals directly with Ma Kawi.

Participantgrats…I think. Glad we don’t have them toll traps here…….yet.

Participantrofl…ok… just be careful about the lead off words. I definitely understand your anger though. A locksmith should be able to help. If not the dealership will. Be thankful they were interested in taking it in one piece. While you are at the dealership ask if the participate in Lo-Jac sales. Just an extra bit of piece of mind.

Participanteh , can’t say I have been that mature. Every now and again I get a hopped up rice burner with a juvenile behind the wheel next to me. They look at me and see an older guy on a bagger. Usually pay them no mind until they start getting stupid. So I nod my head and smile, give it a go and wait for them to catch up to me while I stay at speed limit or 5+ and they finally catch up. I don’t have to full on race them… getting them well off the light til I am up to speed makes my point.

Participantme …automechanic.if it’s in production at some point…I have likely worked on it… well under the $50K price tags anyway.

ParticipantI agree on both sides. Sorry, yea I know they are their trying to make a living… but having me do the hoop jumping ..I don’t think so. I will ask your price just like Elias… wether or not the sales person thinks I am lieing is not a call he needs to be making. Pre judging a customer is a good way to lose one. I could be a millionaire all messed up and smelly from doing god knows what tickled my fancy that day, ripped jeans , wife beater whatever, if your gonna pre judge the fact that you don’t think I have money… got no time for ya. The sales person SHOULD have given him a price…period. Know also it definitely would not have been his best price, but playing cat and mouse is crap sales tactic and I see it all the time.
However for my personal buying… the first thing that pops a u-turn for me is to see sales people flock around you like vultures. Wait til I am in the door and looked for a minute or two. Try and see exactly what it is I am looking at/for. I usually just tell them what I am looking for then if they ask if they can help I get to the point and quick.. .I tell them what I am looking for and if they want to help they will give it to me for X amount. Depending on answer depends on what happens next.
There are good sales people out there that know how to take care of the person and not just their wallets.Munch
Participantthanks, needed a grin just before work

ParticipantMake them tow it . 09..yea it’s under warranty. I am assuming though that you ahven’t gone tooo far break in and you had it professionally serviced if you are. That’s about the only sticking point they could have.

Participantwould get the bike looked at, could be a carb, a partially clogged hose/line as random as it seems it could just be the fuel pick up. Either way definitely get it looked at. Nothing worse then not wanting to ride cause your not so how far you can go.
Munch
ParticipantA lot of that has to do with gas prices. Folks are getting into riding for “economic” reasons and not with the full sight of what they are getting into. Most don’t even have any safety course and some are likely the only person they know that rides. I see it here all the time. Saw a guy behind me the other day try to man handle a sport touring without the full knowledge of how to control the bike. I had to watch him for a while as he was piggy backing me. The first notion I got was watching him lean with the turn signal on… ofcourse the bike did not react much as that was the only in put he gave the bike. Then I saw a sudden jerk over with his head followed by his body, now I start getting nervous. I turned on my signal to go to the left lane to get clear of him as he was trying to merge to the right. Finally I think it kinda clicked with him after watching me make a smooth change. Finally saw the minimal body movement and see him give some input with the handle bars…. though the sudden dive to the next lane gave him a comical oh shit look on his face.
