Pardon my language and i hope i didn’t offend anybody but i need to vent. Long story short, i left for the week to go visit my family and left my sv650s covered with my lil chubby disk brake lock on in a well lit place…Come back today and are gearing up to take a ride with the girl only to realize my key won’t go into the ignition…Some fucking asshole tried to start my bike with a random key, FAILED and then broke the key in my god damn ignition, after all this he/they were nice enough to put the cover back on the bike as if nothing happened.
What i don’t get is what they were planning to do if the key had worked and unlocked the steering wheel. My disc brake lock was on and there is no way you can roll the bike with that on. Anyways thanks for listening guys and any suggestions on who to call to remove the key is greatly appreciated….To the slime ball that tried to take my bike: If i find you i’m gonna gut you like the fucking piece of crap fish you are .

If not the dealership will. Be thankful they were interested in taking it in one piece. While you are at the dealership ask if the participate in Lo-Jac sales. Just an extra bit of piece of mind.

I’m lucky enough to have a shed in my backyard that has room for a bike. Me, I would dig through the tool box and find some super skinny needle nose pliers and yank the sucker. If it’s absolutely stuck, then call for help. At least you still have your bike! Go disk brakes!

As a result, we can leave our houses unlocked, keys in the ignition, power tools in an unlocked garage, and there aren’t any problems. Also, the town I live in is a suburb of Flint, and kind of small. So the cops know who is around, and if they see outside miscreants it is pretty obvious. The last group that tried to move in and set up a drug house found themselves in a world of hurt when three police departments descended on them. I’m told there was gunplay. Don’t know if anybody was killed, but the drug house is gone.

It turns out it was a key that takes the impression of the lock, and they were trying to copy it (don’t know if it was still there or not lol). The locksmith pulled it out. It was the wrong type of lock to use the impression keys, and it wasn’t long enough to mess up the lock (spools or something?). They might have been trying to do that, so I’d lo-jack that right away. I’m getting alarms for both my bikes as soon as I have the $$.
