My theory is just to have a low deductable on your theft insurance and then don’t worry about it anymore. I only pay 100 bucks in my bike gets stolen and I park it on the street all the time. It’s a lot easier than always chaining it up, or using disc locks and alarm systems.

As for lowjack I would definitely recommend that as well if you feel like paying the money, last I researched it they cost around 800-1200 dollars to install which is not worth it for my bike (I could probably only sell my bike for around $3500 right now since it is a 2001 with 35k miles). But if you have a brand new bike it may be worth it for you.

Haha yeah, I really do need to post more often. I’m just a busy busy bee, barely have any time for BBM now adays (as you can see from the lack of updates…). But I still love you guys and BBM will continue to thrive even if I can only work on it once a week!

I’ve done this before, but only when I ride after midnight. Otherwise I usually just wait a couple minutes for a car to come up behind me. I live in a pretty populated area though so I might do this more often if I lived in the sticks.

I’ve contemplated putting horns or tiger ears on my helmet before. The only reason I haven’t is wind resistance. Maybe if I get a cheap Shoei I will.
