After owning my Rebel for nine months, I sold it, and then bought a 2005 Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic! I have only put about 200 miles on it, but am enjoying the bike very much. It is taking some time to get used to the floorboards, and my heel sometimes hits that part of the shifter accidentally, but overall, I think I will be very happy with this bike. After getting it home, my Sportster-riding hubby drove it around awhile, and likes it!
Now, if it just wasn’t 105 degrees around here, I might could do some riding!July 13, 2009 at 1:59 am #20548MunchParticipantFloor boards do take some getting used to. My nine is the first time I ran with them. Probably for the first week or so I actually kept shifting the bike like I still had pegs then went through small towns to train my heel and my brain on how to utilize the heel shift.

July 14, 2009 at 6:58 pm #20613okcponyParticipantGeez, that’s horribly hot! I will try to take my 100-105 degrees (with only 25 to 45 percent humidity, not near Florida-like, but not as dry as Phoenix) with a bit less whining, then.
I do have one of the tech-type jackets with the inner linings out for the summer, and it is alright when you’re moving, but those stoplights are a bear. But I will sure wear it, as I would rather be safe than sorry.
