BenParticipant
You guys are going to have to let me know if you are getting spammed by BBM e-mails now, I can probably reduce it, there are also settings in your account page that lets you edit how often you receive e-mails.
Ben
BenParticipantOk boooyaaaa mutha-truckers, I got the e-mail portion working.
Feel Free to test it out and let me know what you guys think.
Ben
BenParticipantOk one more test.
BenParticipantOk, Current status here:
So right now I have it so you are automatically subscribing to threads, but I can’t seem to get it to generate an e-mail yet. To see your subscriptions click on “My Account” and then “Subscriptions”, it will list all of the threads that you are subscribed to.
I will try and get the e-mail feature working since that is the most important part, but I don’t have any more time tonight to dedicate to this. I can see it is an important feature though so I will try and get it working in the next couple days.
Ben
Oh btw, in case you guys haven’t figured it out Shaykai is me too hah!
BenParticipantagain one more test.
BenParticipantTest test test
BenParticipantThank you shaykai, I think you are too!
BenParticipantI am ben, master and ruler of BBM!!!
I agree with you guys, there needs to be a way to subscribe to threads. Let me get on that and see if there is an easy solution. Will report back my findings within the hour.
Ben
BenParticipantI definitely hear better with Earplugs in, I get them by the hundred at Orchard Hardware Supply.

August 3, 2009 at 7:02 pm in reply to: Riding Gear: Are full-body racing suits the only solution? #21183BenParticipantLet me throw in my 2 cents although it seems like everyone else has it covered.
When it comes to gear I really don’t think mesh is that bad. Leather is better, but Mesh is pretty damn good (if it is quality made). The thing about mesh and textile is it is designed to sacrifice itself in the crash to save your own skin. This is why if you crash in a textile/mesh jacket you most likely have to throw it away (although I got 2 crashes out of my textile pants before I had to toss em!).
Leather on the other hand can survive pretty bad crashes with little damage. Hell, I still wear the jacket that I was wearing when I crashed and broke my shoulder blade. It is a little scuffed on the shoulder, but other than that it is more than fine.
One more thing: Although a lot of the pictures on Ride2Die are real, I know of at least one that is widely believed to be fake (the last one with the rider in a leather suit in pieces).
Ben
BenParticipantlol, true! That smoke really was burning my eyes the whole photoshoot haha.
Ahhh the things I do to look cool.
Ben
BenParticipantYeah, unfortunately you have to want to learn about safety to find BBM. Maybe I should write some articles about wheelies and riding in flip flops so the squids can find BBM too.
Ben
BenParticipantYou have DEFINITELY thought about that before I would make fun, but I have too haha.
ben
BenParticipantlol! Yeah don’t want to target fixate too much when decapitating enemies
Ben
BenParticipantYep both Elwood and munch are correct. Just a basic way for the new people to see who is more experienced (or who is more of a forum whore hah!) and maybe take their advice more to heart. I do actually have some things planned for it, and the point system really allows me to expand when I have the time to do so.
Eventually if you have say 100 points, you might get a new ‘status’ or award next to your avatar. The more points you get the higher your status. That’s just one idea, but I have others. The only thing really holding me back is lack of time
