I must be a huge wuss because I’ve never dragged footpegs at all Sometimes I feel like i’m leaned over enough to be able to, but I’ve never done it!
Ben
~Best Beginner Motorcycles AdminBenParticipantHmmm.. that is a tough one. What years are the bikes?
Ben
~Best Beginner Motorcycles AdminBenParticipantBadass! All of that gear looks top notch swede, I really like the pants. I’m actually in the market for some new moto pants so you’ll have to let me know how those hold up.
All of my gear is listed in the Motorcycle Gear Review section

~Best Beginner Motorcycles AdminBenParticipantDo I sense a bit of sarcasm there kickprivate

Ben
~Best Beginner Motorcycles AdminBenParticipantWowzers, thats quite the post kickprivate! Very sound advice
Ben
~Best Beginner Motorcycles AdminBenParticipantWow they actually REQUIRE a bike over 700cc’s!!! Thats pretty amazing. I guess in that case see if you can borrow a bike from someone for the license test? I hope it all works out, keep us posted with any updates. Also, what is your avatar from, is it a movie?

~Best Beginner Motorcycles AdminBenParticipantI’m a big fan of ‘overpants’, and thats what I’ve been using for the past year. They zip all the way up the sides so you can slip them on over your regular pants and your boots. I can take them on or off in about 30 seconds and I usually just stow them in my backpack or my tail bag. If you plan on doing some serious riding in the twisties though, i would definitely recommend some regular leather pants that replace the pants you would normally wear.

BenParticipantCongrats on passing the knowledge test Jonathan! I remember when I took mine I studied a lot and I was still nervous about it (bad test taker I guess). Are you going to be using your own bike for the MC driving lesson y ou booked, or is the teacher going to be providing a bike?
Have you got the GSX yet?
Ben
~Best Beginner Motorcycles AdminBenParticipantI’d definitly rock the VFR! There is a classic late 80’s VFR at my work with a custom white paintjob and it is oh so beautiful.
Ben
~Best Beginner Motorcycles AdminBenParticipantNice! I’d love to have a 07 gs500 in my stable, you are a lucky dog.
Ben
~Best Beginner Motorcycles AdminBenParticipantGooday!

BenParticipantHmm… it sounds like a fuel problem to me, and also an idle adjustment problem. I remember when I had my 2002 gs500 I used to play with the idle adjustment all the time, in fact I would crank it up until it warmed up and then I would twist it back down to normal levels (although I’m not sure if thats the best or safest thing to do!).
It sounds like you should take it to a mechanic and see if there is anything wrong with the fuel lines.
Ben
~Best Beginner Motorcycles AdminBenParticipantGood to have you aboard Erg0n!

BenParticipantThe ninja 250 would be able to carry you just fine, but if you want to take your girl along on a lot of rides I would suggest something bigger like the gs500. You are probably dead set on a particular new motorcycle, but I would really suggest you get something used. Just by walking out the door you will be losing at least a thousand dollars if you ever decide to sell your bike (which you probably will in a year or two). Craigslist is super big in california, and you could probably get an older gs500 (the naked version) for only a few thousand bucks, I got mine for only 1800 once, and I turned around a year later and sold it for 2400.
