lol yup, All my other quotes were in the $120 range and Progressive was OUTRAGEOUS at almost $250 for crappy 100/300 coverage..and thats 39 years old not tickets/accidents no safety course yet.

lol WOW, Progressive was my worst quote also..but I actually got better coverage through Nationwide…. 1999 Ninja 250 $75 a year thats with the higher coverages also.(250/500 not the typical 100/300) so they offered better coverages at lower rates so it pays to call around. Obviously its kinda pointless for full coverage on a bike that only cost $1100 but still $75 a year is pretty good!

Wholy cow, GREAT link Munch, thats EXACTLY what I was looking for and thats also a GREAT price! Id seen those in a picture online or at least something like them and loved the look! They just did not say what they were(brand wise) in the picture.

I thought the Blast was pretty comfortable just as far as sitting on goes..and I dont really thing the low tech 500 in that is going to be a problem..to be honest its probably more easy to ride than a lot of the 250 bikes(but I dont know this is a assumption from online research not seat of the pants research). It should have more low end torque than say a 250 Ninja BUT as far as the “stats” go the Ninja is actually a bit quicker and revs a lot higher. Id go look at the Blast. I was at the toss up between a Blast a 250 ninja and a GS500..I could not find a single GS500 locally that was a good deal, and the only blasts in my area are new or 1 year old models that were just out of my $$$ range. But the Ninja 250 I just picked up for $1100 was perfect!

Im trying to decide if I will actually EVER upgrade..Got a Ninja 250 and from all the reports ive read..it will honestly do everything I want. It looks decent(the newer ones are better but the older ones to me are also just fine) it will go at least 65-70 mph, gets good MPG…what more would I want..I dont need the ability to get to 100 in 3 seconds I will never drive a bike 100mph anyways..So I guess for me a upgrade in the future may be from a 1999 Ninja 250 to a 2008+ Ninja 250 :) probably just get the newer model but same bike :).

Really sounds cool with the shield and all. I just bought a Gmax that is pretty decent(snell/dot rated) and cheap for what you get..but I would have much rather had the one you reviewed :)

2 more days till I go look, talked with the girl again today and confirmed the appointment to go look. She said she was gonna go charge the battery up and “try” to siphon the old gas out and get new gas in there to try to get it running again. Hope this works out well and its in otherwise good shape..She said other than that(not running) that it was in good shape for the age. Guy from work thats the mechanic is gonna take along his truck just in case I decide its a good deal or a deal can be struck after he looks it over and tells me what it will take to get it on the road again.

most of the ones i had spotted till that were the leather ones with tassles and or big silver buckles..probably look great on a cruiser but not so much so on a sports bike :). I did see a fake leather one that was not too bad actually but just never saw saddlebags like that on anything but a cruiser.

lol thanks for the hints :) I may be getting a Ninja this weekend..not starting but supposedly just bad gas(taking a mechanic to look at it to know for sure)…so we may have to do just that…load it in a truck to get it back to his shop if it needs any work(it will have to go to his shop at the least just for inspection since its not been ridden in 2 years)

and possibly this Jacket in the Yellow if a Large would fit….

I thought about this one but I just think id like something a bit “brighter or more standout than Black..but if I get the Green Kawasaki..guess that may stand out pretty well all by itself
