Glad you made it through okay. Nice job on the helmet. I don’t think it will buff out. Time for new gear. Whoo-hoo!
owlieParticipantSame thing for the trick-or-treaters around here. Half of them don’t even walk the neighborhoods. They jump in and out of their parents’ car to warm up….
owlieParticipantMonday was my last ride for the season- and when I stopped at the dealership, they were surprised I was still riding, but I have still been seeing people out on their bikes. The weather isn’t bad, just cold. And it is getting dark early now.
It is different every year. Some years we get real snow as early as labor day. This years, we got a dusting about three weeks ago, but not enough to worry about. Right about now, we are wondering if there will be snow before Halloween…
owlieParticipantThanks for the update. I had wondered what happened with this one…
I’m glad that common sense ruled the day.
owlieParticipantWe appreciate you taking the time to get us going again!
owlieParticipantThis is he first time I’ve been on since I saw the attack page screen back at the beginning of september. I’m getting ready to reload my system, so I said whatever…
I’ve missed you guys though…
owlieParticipantI still think alot about countersteering when I am riding. I actually go through the whole SLPR thing every time. Eventually it will become habit as Eon is talking about, but cornering for me has been a really difficult learning curve.
When I don’t think about it- as Eternal suggests- I start having real problems finding the right entry speed and keeping a decent line (not even good- just staying between the lines…).
Everyone’s experience is going to be different. If you find that you are continually entering corners too hot, or making the turns either too loose or too tight- or just scaring yourself- slow down and think about it step by step.

owlieParticipantKnowing the “reason” for certain aspects of your personality doesn’t change who you are. There is no reason you ever have to tell anyone this about you unless you want to. And there is no reason that you should allow knowing this to diminish how you feel about yourself.
Those things that define strength of character come from how you face adversity, not how you deal with the more pleasant things in life.
As for work and relationships- everyone has a hard time. It is just part of living. You can find excuses for what is happening, or you can accept it, work through it, and hope for the brighter things in life.
On the otherhand, You have made huge progress towards some of your goals. You have no idea how many people envy your success at losing weight, and we are all cheering you along.

owlieParticipantThose are awesome pictures; thanks for sharing!
owlieParticipantVery nice! Have fun riding!
owlieParticipantCongratulations! That is fantastic.
As for gear- I imagine you’ll have five or six different sets going all the way down the size scale.
owlieParticipantIf I were any good with the weather, I would have put 3000 miles on my bike so far this summer rather than a measly 600.
Have a good time. I bet the weekend will be a blast…
owlieParticipantYou know, gis just don’t make good protective wear on motorcycles. I mean, even with the reinforced knees and double weave fabric for the shoulders, they just wouldn’t hold up in a slide. And with the cold, damp summer that we have had… no wind or rain protection…
I don’t know what I was thinking…
owlieParticipantVery cool. Have fun riding her!
