I have a pair of feildsheer pants and a Cortech jacket. They zip together perfectly.

I still say you moved from paradise. Hopefully there are less wayneheads in London.

I would spray it with the waterproofer unless you like getting wet. With fall and winter coming up. I would go with gauntlet style gloves. I have a pair of short cuffs and it has been around 60 degrees the past couple of mornings. That wind up your sleeves can certainly chill you. I am guessing that the shoulder and elbow pads are CE rated on that jacket and you have a foam backpad. That should be sufficient but if you wanted more protection you could get a CE rated back pad.

You didn’t mention pants or boots. I can’t really talk on boots as I am wearing combat boots when I ride, but they are boots and are not coming off in a ride. Pants are important, or at the very least some knee and shin protectors.

Hey rupmisc, leave me alone! It was late. So you could have comedy or good grammar. But, yeah those were dumb mistakes. Good thing I didn’t attempt a short story last night.

I am totally offended. Thomas Crapper was my great grandfather and to have what comes out of someones but referred to by his name injures me deeply. Seriously, the words take a knife and cut a whole in my heart and then take a crap in it.

Mini bikes and dirt bikes as a child and adolescent, mostly on a KM100. Also did lots of 4 wheeler riding. I am now 30 (well 31 on Sunday). Took the MSF in June and got a Ninja 250 one week after. Have been riding a lot since. I have about 4k miles of riding under my belt so far. I commute on it daily on the interstate. Most of my friends that have motorcycles have had theirs about the same amount of time (or at least have been riding them about the same amount).

Didn’t the Police sing a song about this. “Don’t park so, don’t park so, don’t park so close to me.”

This is also why you don’ park next to the guy that has a cover on his bike on rainy days with gusty winds.

I was going to bust him on that but he did say relatively. Although he didn’t say relatively to what. It is pretty new compared to the development of the steam engine or say, the creation of the earth.

define long trips on the interstate. I have a classic 250 and have taken it on the interstate for at least one hour. It did fine. I think it fits the criteria of “partially faired, economy and comfort.” There are guys over at ninja250.com that tour on them. Welcome to the site.

Your powerband is going to start at around 8k RPM. I was riding this weekend with a guy on a v-star 1100. When he got on the freeway, he cranked it down to get up to speed. I was going about 11k in 4th and didn’t drop off of him. I find that it likes to ride at about 7k though. Anything lower and it feels slow to respond. I do have the classic version and I have heard that they messed with it some, so you may have to feel it out for yourself. I really seldom go over 9k.

You need to wind the gears out a bit more. You will accelerate faster. Don’t rush it though, it will come. I would look up the motoman break in method. It breaks it in more quickly and some say better.

I hate people like that. The best thing to do is to get around them. Not only is there a chance you are going to hit them, but a chance you are going to get hit from behind.
