ParticipantThe major consensus will probably be wait until the BRC/MSF.
Though I am sure your husband is a good teacher…it will never replace the BRC instruction.
Being anxious is normal, but once you get to the actual BRC just listen to the instructors and relax. You will be writing back saying how much fun you had. If you search the archives here you will find people was in the same boat as you before.
Cheers!

ParticipantAye EFMB…sorry its been a long time…I’m starting to show my age and time out of the Army LOL. Heck also I think we were the only combat unit on Fort Drum to have female combat medics too at the time….caused some distraction during deployments LOL

ParticipantHehe – Thanks! Recon!
We did a lot of x-training with Combat Medics and I actually went through the Combat Medic Badge qualification. I always loved the medics for hooking me up with IV’s right before a PT test or Ruck March. Also love all the free meds LOL
Anyways – The Rebel is fun. Very light and easy to just sit back and cruise on. I do recommend though that you adjust the shifter level one “tooth/notch” so its easier to shift. Also if the bike you got does not have it already, invest $7 and get a magnetic drain plug, and the $10 for the inline fuel filter from autozone.
There is a Rebel250 forum http://www.rebel250.com/
Have fun!!

ParticipantGreat. I had a Rebel to start off with and it taught me a lot at a very fast pace. She will do 80+MPH fine and she handles easily.

ParticipantI think that Honda Shadow is nice for the price. And it shouldn’t be that much more than the 250 control wise. Yes the weight “may” be an issue but I think you can handle it. Of course I say that with a grain of salt. Take the MSF and figure out what you can handle in the beginning.
Then again $2500 is a great price and more so its a used bike so dropping it will not be as bad if you dropped a brand new bike. Personally, I would snatch that Honda up for that price. They are indeed great starter bikes.

ParticipantYes two different paths….power or comfort LOL! I am leaning towards the Star 950 though.

ParticipantI cant decide whether to say with cruiser (V-Star 950) or go with a sporty like the Buell 12X Lightning.

ParticipantYou can actually buy the drop down tint visor as an add on. It easily attaches to the Gmax. No need to buy a new helmet.

ParticipantThanks Man…the Star is my main point of transportation down to 30 degrees. As long as its dry I ride her to work. I dont trust houston drivers in the rain so I take the cage on those days!
Sangria7
ParticipantNever used those but I do have the GMax with the built ins and they are great…..

ParticipantI think the Hyosung look like great bikes…in fact the 2009 GV650 Aquila looks great. I was drooling over it when I first saw it. Too bad they are ver difficult bikes to aquire.
Sangria7
ParticipantIt looks like a blacked out Sportster…

ParticipantMan I cant bring myself to spend the $1K for new pipes and the hypercharger.
Do you guys think just getting the pipes is worth the $350 + labor = $500 to get new pipes on my bike?
I have no clue if the V&H Cruzers will add any performance or just make it louder…?I might just save the money and increase the size of the 3-hole mod from 3/8″ to 1/2″
BAH
