RobbieJParticipant
I’d have told your salesperson who sold you your bike what the deal is and I’d have already gone to someplace else. That is not very good customer service, whatsoever.
RobbieJParticipantThere isn’t anybody who can look at the new 250 and want an older model more. They might choose an older one but, they want the new one. I guarantee there isn’t a soul at Kawasaki that didn’t think that that bike was gonna be as hot as it is. Either way, I’m not patient enough to wait around for an update to the 500.
RobbieJParticipantYeah, I think it turned out to be one of the scams you mentioned. I sent the poster an email within seconds of it being posted. I never heard back from them and when i checked the add today, it said it was flagged for removal. So, it was too good to be true. I’m not so sure what the scam was, though. I wouldn’t have paid for the bike before checking all the info out and seeing the bike in person, anyway. I’m looking at a 1997 Suzuki Katana, at the moment. It’s $1500 and right in the town I live in. I’ve been in contact with the seller already and he’s got someone looking at it. If this falls though, I’m done looking and I’m just gonna wait till I get home before I start looking again. I get too excited when I find something I like and they sell it because I won’t pay for it without seeing it, first. Damn, this deployment sucks.
RobbieJParticipantI was disappointed when the killed off Cut-throat bitch on the show, too. LOL… Well, either way, now I know.. Thanks
RobbieJParticipantI never intend on getting red cars but, 4 out of 5 cars I’ve owned have been red. So, I’m throwing in the towel and just looking for red, now. The wife drives a blue SUV so, my bike has to match my little Neon. LOL. yes, I love my neon, 5 speed.
RobbieJParticipantI found a dealership that is expecting some of them in September. The woman said that she has no deposits so far and I’d have pick of whatever color I want when they come in. I get home in less than 3 weeks and I’ll be heading right down to leave my deposit, I think.
RobbieJParticipantWhat is this “Givi toprack system?” Why is it not in the reviews? If it is, I couldn’t find it. If it’s not, will ya snap to? I need to think about this stuff before I get my bike. Will be home in less than a month and my shopping will begin.
thx
RobbieJParticipantI have read alot of different reviews and some forums on the Hyosung. I’ve read that a very high percent of people who get them are very disappointed with their bikes and a high percent of them took delivery of them with missing parts that any new rider wouldn’t look for. After reading on them some more I have completely eliminated them from my list of possibilities. I’m back to the Ninja 250 or 500. I’ll know within 2-3 months.

So, if you and your rider combined weigh more, you’ll be riding illegaly, anyway. As soon as I re-deploy, I’m going to look at my options between the Ninja 250 and the 500. If you don’t wanna spend the extra cash on the 500, take a look in swap sheets and craigs lists. They haven’t mady any major mods to the bike in nearly 20 years so, pick up one a few years old and you’ll be satisfied.

I know I’m going to hear about this from the wife as soon as I get home because, not only am I risking my life in the Army, I also play hockey. LOL. So, this is a big hiccup in me convincing her to let me get a bike. Ha ha
However, he was very inexperienced, only had his permit for a couple weeks, and the bike for only a couple of days. I’m sure he wasn’t prepared for what happened. Especially, seeing how he still hadn’t taken his safety class, yet. I say, class first then ride.

LOL.. They probably let you see more than others closer to the bike, I’d imagine but, damn I just can’t let it go. haha
RobbieJParticipantwhen in uniform, we’re not allowed to show the laces, anyway. So, I’ve learned to tuck them into the top of the boot and I’ve never had them fall out. I also tie my uniform pants over my boots to the second lace gromet (with handy little drawstrings that the pants are made with) per Army standards. This will also prevent any lace mishaps, I believe.
RobbieJParticipantI’ve been doing a little studying seeing how my wife is having second thoughts on the matter, now. I’m sure I’ll end up with a bike but, it’s gonna take some buttering up to get it. LOL Here’s some sites that I found that look helpful. It appears that vast majority of motorcycle accidents are either alcohol related or of no fault to the rider, at all. Then, the vast majority of the rest are idiots being idiots. Glad I’m not an idiot and the wife knows this.

Here is a nice Q&A page that I found, too.
RobbieJParticipantSomething that might help some of your readers and members in their fight in convincing a family member, friend, or Loved one that riding or getting a motorcycle is not a death trap could be to put a fact and statistics review up. You raise excellent points in alot of your posts in defense of riding motorcycles and it is very helpful. I think it would give you the opportunity to say how you feel about the subject and also give you the chance to get it out without coming off as aggressive or “Soapbox”, as you like to put it.
