ParticipantWhat size bike do you have? I’ve been riding two up with my 80lb son for a short distance on the way to take him to school and my Ninja 250 handles terribly with two, just feels sluggish. I can’t imagine riding 2 adults on a small cc bike.

ParticipantGlad you didn’t get flattened!

ParticipantWelcome, any of the 250’s would be great bikes to get started on. Just depends on what style floats your boat. Go look and sit on a few of the different 250’s, I’m sure one of them will feel “right”. Make sure you get riding gear too!

ParticipantShe’s beautiful, congrats!!! I know you will give her a good home.

ParticipantThe little Ninja looks great hanging with the big boys. Beautiful bikes, it’s cool that you all live close in the same area, Great pics thanks for sharing.

ParticipantI bought HT Overpants for riding to work, http://www.newenough.com/protective_apparel/textile_jackets_and_pants/first_gear/ht_ii_textile_motorcycle_overpants.html
They fit well over my work dockers, the are warm, but breakdown with two layersm and they handle the weather well. Take 1 min to get in and out of them. There is a review of them on the site . https://bestbeginnermotorcycles.com/first-gear-textile-overpants-crash-testedJim
ParticipantSuprised you weren’t riding in a constant wheelie with that load on the back. LOL Nice pics…ummm nice hair, I think. Your bike is hot!
Jim
Participantmmmm..cottage cheese. LOL Where did that thought come from?
Jim
ParticipantKeep trying, seems harsh to dismiss you without some more coaching. Will they let you take it again for free or a reduced price? Maybe try a different bike, which might have a clutch adjusted differently. If you have never driven a manual transmission car I can see how it could be daunting. At least in a car you don’t have to worry about falling over, just stalling. I think the suggestion of getting some practice operating a clutch in a car is a good idea, to get used to the friction point without worrying about falling over.

ParticipantAdded myself, I bet it gets accidently deleted, they should lock that delete button.

ParticipantWell there are squids who wear gear and there are non-squids who don’t wear gear. So really gear doesn’t have anything to do with it. My take is a squid is someone whose foolish riding actions endanger someone elses lives (doing wheelies on public roads in traffic, burning out in parking lots, etc)
Jim
ParticipantEnjoy the savings too! My gas bill went from $250 a month to $70 a month when I started commuting by bike.
