Hey watch the crappy Kawasaki 250 comments….I ride a crappy Kawasaki 250!!.. Just kidding I know what ya mean, Good move on getting a lower CC bike to learn on. Six months on the 250 will give you the confidence and skills to get you back on the R6 with confidence.
JimParticipantCongrats!!! Got pics?
JimParticipantElwood on this board bought a Sportster for his first bike…here is his well written review :

JimParticipantWere/what type of wind skirt did you get? I need one, my neck is freezing now in the mornings, the rest is staying pretty warm.
JimParticipantAs much as you want to beat the crap out of these dumb asses who almost kill us. Kicking their car can get you a visit from Johnny Law and they walk away laughing at you, and dialing your insurance company to pay for repairs.
JimParticipantI think it is a personal choice. You have to sit on both types and see what is more comfortable to you. I sat on a cruiser at the MSF and just hated riding with my feet out in front and all. It has always felt perfect to me sitting on my Ninja. Try both types before you buy and see what floats your boat the most.

JimParticipantGlad you made it home in one piece. Don’t ever trust a cager to make the right decision. I had one last night also riding home from work too. First real idiot I’ve ran across in my 4 months of riding. She swings into the middle lane to merge into traffic, I slow down a little because I’m not sure if she sees me. She looks over her shoulder, looks right at me, she is only 10 yards ahead of me. So i think good she sees me, I proceed on. Then the idiot pulls right into my lane, I swerved right, we end up lane sharing as I goose the throttle to get ahead of her,,,,,sigh.
JimParticipantAlmost as bad as Canada…Utah.
JimParticipantGood for you on getting on the Interstate, it’s great to get a confidence boost. Was snowing here this weekend…..looks like going to have to put that bike away soon.
JimParticipantOMG that is harsh! Hope dude was OK. Don’t you mean “shouldn’t be in neutral?
JimParticipantHere is how I mounted my GPS to my bike . I use it for one of my hobbies Geocaching, and just glance down at it occasionally. I don’t find it to be a distraction. I don’t use it for day to day commuting, just on a longer ride or when I go geocaching.

JimParticipantWell a helmet without a chin strap is pretty worthless.
