the “beware” and “revenge” talk doesn’t mean what I think it means. If it does, this conversation may go into a whole other direction. Just remember, there is nothing to fear, but fear itself.

smokeizfireParticipantOne day I was riding down Sepulveda Blvd, and my bike shut off and would not start. Long story short, I called the dealer and ensured them that it wouldn’t start, not for some silly reason like the engine cut-off is engaged, or the kick stand is down( safety mech for my cruiser), etc. They came, not so right away, with their mechanic and he tinkered with it until it started. Stated it was something electrical, and that I should bring it in for him to tape up and re-route some of the wiring. Changed course to home from previous destination. It happened again. Called the “guys” again. They met me, not far from the original location where I was stuck. They picked me and the bike up, got me home and the bike to the dealer. Next day, I picked “her” up and been taking her to look at other “horses” ever since. They said they had to replace the “fuse regulator”(whatever the hell that is…guess it regulates the fuses…duh). The Irony to me of both, topic and this post is, all the while I was getting advice being told to be wary of “new” manufacturers. “Go Japanese”, they said”, “for they are more dependable.” It seems when we make these arguments, we are comparing granny smith’s to red delicious.
Good ol’ Munch. Sorry about your 500, man. That was a hopeful of mine as well. The Vulcan classic is solid. I like the 900 custom a little better…..ok maybe a lot better. However, the overall “classic” look is the most appealing to me….like the Shadow aero or V-star classic. I agree with you on that 8-letter word you used…that starts with a W. There’s a lot of power in that word. ..LOL May the force be with you….so you may cruise the galaxy once more.

smokeizfireParticipantthat were in no way considered for beginners. Shall I run down the list? Out of the 2 cruiser guys, 1 had a Vulcan 900 Classic, and the other guy had a Honda VTX 1100. From the Sport bike crowd, 2 of the guys had “Gixxer 750s”, and the other guy a R1. The R1 guy was at least honest by stating that he did drop his bike a few times and had a couple of close calls, too many. From his statement, although he probably would never admit verbally, may not have had those issues if he would have started smaller, and not rushed in to biking with a Supersport “liter bike”. But hey, that’s only my opinion. What I will say is riding a motorcycle before the course helped us all out plenty, no matter what “horse” we rode in on.

smokeizfireParticipantGreat vote of confidence there, WZ! How about we compare the cost of the bike to the ol’ casket and funeral expenses, too, while we’re at it.

smokeizfireParticipantPerception varies for different individuals my friend. You have to be the most “POLITICALLY CORRECT” individual in this entire forum. I agree that words can be very revealing; also judgmental, misleading, and down right offensive. I’m glad that my posts interest you so. You’ve been using your microscope really well, I see.
Sorry that this “unsupported notion” offends you so much, that you have to post it as a forum topic. Whereas, it seems most who may have viewed this “unsupported notion” as just rhetoric. You however, being the overly critical individual you are, seem to take it as a viewpoint of my own. Well, I guess the guy who chose to use a quote from a X-man “…I’m the best at what I do, and what I do ain’t nice..” really reflects their viewpoint. Give me a break!
And back to the “John McCain” reference, the only “heat” concerning it is coming from your direction. So don’t try to come off as some sort of mediator; as if you are trying to prevent a disagreement before it happens. What you are doing is the exact opposite. You are the proverbial fanner of “embers” into “flames”.
Your criticism, and endless ranting is as silly as this “unsupported notion” that you are attacking. If you think you can figure an individual out by a few posts, then I beg to differ. And, I have no choice but to capitalize and get into, “he said, I said” posts, because of people like you, who misconstrue the overall point I am trying to get across. People like you who get so lost in the details that they miss the point entirely.
I think you started 2 threads on the “OT Forum”, all pertaining to previous posts of mine (I’m flattered) looking for an uproar; in a lame attempt to exaggerate the context in which the statements were made; to portray this “unsupported notion” as the posters personal point of view (guess the “statement” isn’t so “silly” since I’ve made it clear that this is NOT a personal point of view.) So keep posting! Continue your “unsupported” rants, and totally irrelevant opinion in your analysis of what I have already, and will post. You just prove my point further about you, and your sharp criticism.
You said, “So, feel free to take everything I say with a grain of salt.” Finally, we agree on something! =* ]D

smokeizfireParticipantWords are used in terms that don’t always apply to their dictionary definition. When I use the term “politically correct”, I use it to site an individual(s) who would correct someone on a point that may have been taken out of context…like the “John McCain…flip flop..” post. Although, I was joking about a politician, it seem you thought I was injecting politics into the discussion(there’s a difference). Your “political correctness” wasn’t initiated in my opinion until you tried to “advise” me to leave politics on the “off topic” forum. I think most people may have taken it as a joke and not me trying to steer away from the “topic.”
I felt like you just didn’t get it (not the joke, but that it was in fact just a joke); like the slogan from the T-shirt. You started an entire thread about the implications of a T-shirt. “HE WHO DIES WITH THE MOST TOYS WINS.” This doesn’t make you politically correct in my opinion, but with those 2 instances, it seems you take things very seriously. That’s a good thing….if it’s working for you.
In politics, you always have to watch what you say for fear of someone taking what you say out of context, then using it against you. Thus, I think that’s where the term “politically correct” stems from. Long story short, when someone…excuse me…when I refer to someone as “politically correct”, I might just mean that you are watching my words a little too closely. = ^ D

smokeizfireParticipantI think the terms in which you use the word is as important as the word itself. If you use it to describe a US branch of the military, then it wouldn’t offend anyone except our enemies. = ) Now when you have someone running for the highest office in the country portraying himself as an individual who can identify with the “average” American, the term “elite” and “average” are not very synonymous with each other. The first word I think of when I hear elite is, above the rest. I would consider that “elitism” is a mind state as well. Hypothetically, 2 individuals could have the same education, upbringing, and be financially well off. However, 1 could have a viewpoint from the super rich and wealthy prospective, that I have mine and you get yours any way you can with out help. The other could have a prospective that some people in this world really do need help, and share the concerns of the more common man.
