…gas mileage isn’t the only aspect in deciding which bike to get, otherwise, I’m sure many of us would be riding scooters…Lol I’m not a fan of the Rebel simply because of the size. I own the Orange and Black Hyosung and think drivers will see me more eaisly due to the color. Black on black is cooler, but not always safer. To each his own, though.
smokeizfireParticipantGrats..with a con in front
smokeizfireParticipant…my engine isn’t load enough. My helmet is so tight that they kind of do the job for the ear plugs.
smokeizfireParticipant….too much for me. I do 80 just to keep up with traffic. In SoCal…80 is the speed limit…(not posted though)
smokeizfireParticipant…I found the BMW guys are way more snobbier than the Harley guys here in SoCal. Things that make you go hmmmmm???? I wave/nod at everybody including the Sport bikers.
smokeizfireParticipantThe MS in MSF is for motorcycle safety. The focus is on riding a motorcycle safely. Learning how to ride is 1 aspect of the experience, safety is the 2nd and most important. Take the class!!!!!
smokeizfireParticipant….”Safety” seemed out of place. And boy did I receive flack on this Forum for the posts on my experiences at the course. Now, I was 1 out of several individuals who rode to my classes on my motorcycle, however, I was the only guy who’s horse was a 250 cruiser. The other horses consisted of (1)Yamaha R1, (2)GXS-R 750s, (1)Honda VTX 1300, (1)Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic, a partridge in a pear tree.
smokeizfireParticipant… and you only more than likely. This is what ruins the forum. That didn’t sound rude to me at all. It sounded like he had an “a ha!!!” moment from the information received which was very informative to individuals who are not as mechanically inclined. I personally learned a lot from reading this entire thread about different engine types, etc. Geez, lighten up and adjust your perception sensors.
smokeizfireParticipant…try ’em 1st, then buy ’em. Here ends the lesson.

smokeizfireParticipantis that legal. When there’s no HOV lane, and there is a signal to enter the free way, I always get stuck and end up running the light. Woooow, I might have to try that.
smokeizfireParticipantI agree.
smokeizfireParticipantI’m in school as well, from 4pm to 12am. That night I was riding home around 11pm. I guess the guy who almost hit me had Jose Cuervo behind the wheel with him.
smokeizfireParticipantsmokeizfireParticipantGood ole Munch, unfortunately here in SoCal we are in rain season. I guess the rain itself isn’t unfortunate, but the way commuters drive in the rain. Out here it seems people forget how to drive when it drizzles; God help us motorcyclist when it really pours. I had my first “close call” last week Thursday when a van maneuvered in my lane before looking. Do I need to say I chased him down and gave him a verbal thrashing. All he could say was,” I sorry…”, literally. Yeah, his English was as bad as his driving.
I thought about Megaspaz when I asked in a post long ,long ago about rain riding. His response was, “…be extra paranoid..”
The only humor I could find in my short catalog of rain rides is I got caught in the rain the day I went to purchase rain gear. Go figure.
