ParticipantDecisions, decisions. I love my GS500f just the way it is, but am doing upgrades mostly for the stickers so that I can make it look like a race bike. I am buying new grips with my next paycheck based on which brand comes with stickers. So far all I have is a Yoshi sticker, but I am waiting on my Dynojet kit and K&N air filter.
If you are happy with your bike, spending a few hundred dollars on upgrades doesn’t seem crazy to me. Just remember it is a 250, so there will be limit as to how much power you’ll be able to wring out of it.ShannonG
ParticipantI just bought a pair of BMW Motorrad boots and oh my gosh were they worth the money! They feel like slippers on my feet. My only complaint is that I was in a gravel parking lot yesterday and couldn’t crab walk my bike back because they get no traction on loose surfaces.

ParticipantI shall now get on my GS500 soapbox and preach its utter ridabilitly. Because, you know, I have so much experience and stuff.

ParticipantWelcome!

ParticipantI got that too. I think they get blamed when someone outgrows a 250 and has to ‘buy up’ fairly soon.

ParticipantI like the look of that bike (the GSX) but the weight would scare me off. Plus, I love my GS so much it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

ParticipantThere really isn’t a huge markup on bikes as a general rule. The shops make their money on service and accessories. I find not being obnoxious and just being upfront is the best approach. “What’s your best price?” And make it clear you’re willing to spend your accessory dollars there.

ParticipantNow that’s cute!!!

ParticipantI wear all my gear, all the time. My summer riding pants are cooler than jeans anyway.
I can’t chew gum in my helmet, it’s that tight.ShannonG
ParticipantHoly crap that’s a heavy bike!
ShannonG
ParticipantHappy riding!

ParticipantI wouldn’t dream of rejetting my own carb. Fortunately I have a friend who’s brilliant with bikes and loves to tinker. My jet kit is on the way from Dynojet.

ParticipantI’m a tach freak; every standard vehicle I have ever owned I have relied heavily on a tachometer. However, on my motorcycle I really find I ride better without even looking at the tach. Maybe it has something to do with being astride the engine?
Wow, that sounded kind of dirty.

ParticipantI really, really like your bike. The pictures on the Suzuki website really don’t do it justice.

ParticipantWho did you kill to get a Ninja 250 this year?
I like the blue. Although I admit I have a weakness for the green :-0 -
