This is too bizarre…
When I first started bike shopping I sat on an FZ6 and got sucked into the sales pitch. “Oh, it’s a perfect starter bike.” My hubby was buying from this dealership and they are a great bunch of guys, very young, hip, informed on what they’re selling but they’re all speed freaks and assume anyone looking at a street/faired bike is the same.
So I’m sitting on the FZ6 trying to figure out how I’m going to pay for it because I LOVE it when the salesman says something about it having 95 horsepwer. Huh? That’s almost as much as my car. How in the sam hell am I supposed to learn to ride on something that weighs 400 lbs and has the horsepower of a 3,000 lb car. Thank you, no.
If you can get the Ninja, do it.

The only thing I don’t really care for its it’s kind of a loud pattern. You can’t get them in solid colors with the Top Gun glasses.

I am officially jealous – the Ninja was my first choice but they were all sold out in Canada! I’m brand new here too, so if I do anything really stupid I’ll be sure to let you know. :-0

I find the HJC fits my noggin the best. For under $300 CDN I found one with the full face that flips up and cool tinted glasses INSIDE the visor that are activated by a button on the top of the helmet. Very fighter pilot cool.

I have a pair of these boots and since they’re not marketed as motorcycle-specific they are far less than the motorcycle boots you’ll find at a bike store. No laces, sturdy sole, cover your ankle, they are great boots for riding!

I am so scared of dropping my new bike! Hopefully my cycling experience will pay off and I won’t put any scratches on my shiny Suzuki. Silver lining scenario is I have a friend who could put a wicked custom paint job on it if I really muck it up.
