RydRyParticipant
hey all- KNOX is awesome and expensive but there are a few deals left at oncycle.com and I can say they are decent to deal with- be safe all!
RydRyParticipantclosest Ive seen that you can ride and upkeep and learn on and and and
RydRyParticipanti am now on a bonnie as well- I gotta say I thought, oh maybe a larger bike next- but then with gas and the fact that Ive never needed to go faster than the 865 cc’s Ill likely aim for a 500cc next to save even more gas and also there as such peppy bikes out thee it should be fun-
RydRyParticipantwhat i did was take advantage of the numerous awesome reviews on the site- then read all the posts, i imagine that combined with your own thoughts will decide it for you and welcome- also after doing that buy a t-shirt and support what Ben is providing here-
RydRyParticipantI agree, those tight turns and also combining turns with brake, gear use!
oh…yes and the CARS!!!!!RydRyParticipantI read on another forum something that seems to be prevelant in most cases like this one:
the person said “you already know what you are going to do, you are looking for validation, someone to say do it- so just do it”
and I hate to say it but when you havent ridden- which was me just 3 months ago- you are dangerous, because you think you know alot, or at least you reason alot- and then you want it to be- its not- 1300 is just going to end up as fun as driving bigfoot when you should b enjoying a tacoma truck-
maybe we will ALL be wrong and youll somehow make it to the point where you are comfortable, but youd be there soo sooo much faster on a smaller bike and then build the needed foundation- I knew a guy who was the same, took the safety course and now is afraid to even ride, he is taking it to parking lots slowly trying to get used to it- oh and the it is a 1200 haaaRydRyParticipantyou are right everyone should indeed know and congrats!!!
RydRyParticipantI know these are beautiful bikes- I now have one- there is a thread if you read through and it has nobbies which dont handle well on the road by most accounts- and finally its nearly 500 pounds!
RydRyParticipantI had great luck with competition accesories as well
RydRyParticipantI wear a few types, none of them keep air out- goggles do- I wear oakleys under the helmet and also smiths and von zipper- I prefer the plastic wrap around styles like smith and vonzipper to the metal oakleyys for keeping bugs out if the shield is up
RydRyParticipanthow much were they asking?
RydRyParticipantthanks I agree- no need to get worked up but I think once I wrote that I felt better- plus its easy to act like this is a safe thing to do- good to check that once in awhile, its a HUGE risk and I know many disagree but to be honest to myself (I love it Im soooo hooked) but it is NOT SAFER to me than drivin g a car I dont care, if I had a car I would have bumped her thats it, on the bike I was inches from death-
anyway haaa theres some more therapy funny I had about 4 seconds time in all that and I couldnt do any thinking just react and so I let off the throttle sat up, steered over and pressed the brakes slowly no way to downshift as it would have required moving, thinking etc haaRydRyParticipantI loved the vulcan- I am 6-1- there is a guy here who had the s40 and Id imagine that too would be nice for you- I think in a cruiser with these displacements you arre fine with a 500 and would be happy now and in a year-
RydRyParticipanthey there- I am from STL also- south county- living in vermont now- anyways welcome and congrats ride well!
RydRyParticipantyoull want to add more to that list and it will be best to see what is here already as well
