Hi All. Great website.
I am new to the idea of riding bikes (36 years old and have never owned one and it has been YEARS since I have even been on one).
Here is the dilemma. I am 6 foot 1 and about 240 pounds. Overall I would say I am just a big guy.
A friend of mine that has always been into bikes is telling me to go big. I said that everything I hear is that I should go for a smaller bike to cut my teeth and he disagrees. While at the bike shop I will admit that when I say on the Yamaha 250 it felt very small. Suzuki c50 a bit better and then the Suzuki boulevard 90 felt great. No Cramps in back, legs were comfortable etc.
My fear is that on a bike that big I am going to kill myself…. Another friend was telling me that his first bike was the Kawasaki Vulcan 500. His recollection was that it was a nice sized bike, but he couldn’t guarantee it…
Any advice for this big noob….
Thanks in Advance,
Steve
