So had a great day of riding today in Vermont- gotta just remind all us new riders- CARS, Trucks WILL PULL OUT IN FRONT OF YOU! its not even a matter of doing anything, it will happen- in fact a truck did it today from less than 50 feet at my 40mph- and then a car in same speed wowsers- recall reading that YOU ARE INVISABLE and I just expect it now- so learn those braking and downshift, clutch work youll need it lots especially in towns, cities

yeah- thats good advice- I am still working on remembering to be extra careful at low speeds too- hell thats when I mostly do things just like that!@ Ive taken to passing my driveway and turning around to enter form the other side cause the dip and angle are all wrong at 5mph! :)
and looking through my turns is always a challenge gotta remember that

matt- thanks that will be helpful- of course today I learned that I am making 48- as I ran out (to the reserve tank that is- and I too have a 4.2 galloner so assuming 1 of those is still in there I calculated on 3.2 and got my 48, not bad since I do alot of start and stop stuff- thanks again- today I learned that the bike is accepted here :) a group of harley guys, real ones, with the look, gear bikes etc, gave me the thumbs up as they passed me :) that did feel good

agree totally and the last one is Key!2 today I got lost in the mountains and along streams it was amazing! much more at ease and boy does that wind take you by surprise no covering unless in tight traffic or youll fly off Id say :) still trying to figure how much gas I have left- I guess Ill have to go down to the reserve and record the miles to get an idea as I thought I needed it today and only took 1.7 gallons on a 4.2 tank

on my bike they charged the taxes at around the 350 you got- then a licensing fee 60 and a registration fee 60 and a documentation fee 60=180 then a freight and setup fee of 450 so around 630 there so yeah that comes up as a likely overhead fee but even in demand bikes may be discounted if you are a serious buyer who shows up in person ready to buy Id imagine

Yes local shop as Ben Said you can try it on,, make sur eof the fit, then google it read the reviews- afterall this gear will last you and is what you rely on for safety- sometimes you just have to pony up I suppose too- but along the helmet lines- I got a HJC and had been riding a HSoei, the HJC- on sale at newenough.com and motorcyclesuperstore.com for like 75 bucks had much less wind noise and fit my head better so check around

Id say from my very limited riding experience- I started cautious and then was aware of when I could step it up to roads then roads with traffic etc- start there and youll know when to branch out and most of all youll be comfortable with the progression

GOOD LORD- all was going extremely well- and today I too dropped her- I was trying to execute a turn on my dirt driveway at an upward angle and didnt give neough gas so at 3mph I dropped her- pegs took it and a light bend to the left turn signal and my ego :) but the bike somehow must have gotten gas in a line or something flooded and wouldnt start so here im pushing up 300 pounds on an incline- it later started and I chalked it up to learning

I am sure there is some real data there- but I gotta say I rode the 500 and then the 865cc and the difference is marked- but I suppose you must balance all the other factors so well laid out here for bewginners-

yeah I think they are right up there- I tried them on and then checked out newenough.com and found them at the insane price- i figure a solid color helmet and then an HJC graphics for fun- they also make JOE ROCKETs new line of helmets as a side- and there are some insane options there- great write up on most reviews too
    albeit more pricey :)
