That should work. Coming from the Jeep world I used to always hear about something being “ghetto” . My response… if it weren’t for the “ghetto’d” or the “redneck’d” or shadetree engineering the Fluff and stuffs wouldn’t have any bright and shinies to buy as a final product.
Can always try going to your nearest Sams wholesale or on the left coast I thinks it’s Costco? Anyways grab you one of them supersized “aint no way in hell I am gonna get through this” bags of flour and get it on the back. Or if you have a dog …. dog food!

if they can make one to drown out customers and managers but still hear what I am doing I am sold. :)
Other then that… an air chisel in a fender well and constant use of air guns…. yea….way above that “skill saw” level he has in his graphs.
For anyone not used to loud noises…I definitely recommend the use of em. For the rest of us…. well I am already screwed. Actually for my own personal self..I almost wish some hearing would go….maybe it would dull the high pitch tones I am so sensitive to, I swear my hearing is not very far from a dogs….

The idea is to make it just audible enough to give you a “ambiance” . In actuality if I don’t have my I-pod on I do not wear any ear plugs. However I am a mechanic…and even an 80 mile an hour wind does not bother me at all. I have to hear much louder things at the shop for about 12 hours at a time. By the time I get on my scoot the wind noise is actually relaxing to me.

Riding solo in the seat? I used to carry alot of stuff with me on my V500 before I put my saddle bags on there. It didn’t even have a sissy bar. I used the “net” styled bungee set up. There are ones out there if you look that have adjustable hooks where you can relocate them on the net itself to adjust the tension. The first couple times I rode with it I was paranoid it was going to just let go. But the sucker kept everything safe. Anything of real weight I would lay flat behind you in the passengers spot and strap it down well…. then build up behind that and use the back rest to keep it from shifting further.

If you have a fuel selector make sure your not in the “reserve” setting. Another thing to try is when it happens to open the gas cap for a few mins then close and try to restart. Seems to be alot of bikes here recently having vacuum problems with the fuel system.

absolutely.. .I rode loaded down for a long while before I put my daughter on the back. Learning to compensate for dead weight made it easier for me to learn, having my daughter being a thoughtful being on the back that can lean and help with the balance made it easier to handle. Though we rode around small areas to help train her and myself on what to do, how to do it and to get the general feel for it. I still will only take her on a 10 mile ride near the house. Though I am lucky enough to live on the “backroads”

I do ..and in NC no it is not illegal. Never has it distracted me. I choose songs I know so I do not have to pay any attention to them. It gives me something soothing and is great for soundtracks on those scenic days.

I second guess every time I ride. I have 2 little girls I still very much intend on raising. However I just use that to keep my mind in the ride and everything around me. I do not kid myself about the risk I am taking. I ride with every ounce of safety I can muster. However there is one phrase I heard that many likely have that keeps me from living in fear:
Well since I cannot find it or remember it I will have my own spin on it.

I choose to live and experience life, rather to wait in fear to arrive safely at deaths door.

I have everything to live for and choose to do so. Next time you find yourself at the zoo… look into the eyes of the animals we keep behind bars and caged. Notice the dim that had befallen their spirits.

If it’s been under a year….yea I think it’s their way of saying they have not a clue ( or the training) on how to fix your problem. Refer to your paperwork from when you bought the bike on how long a warranty you have…both mileage and years, it will be one or the other which ever comes first. The back firing could be a by product of the leaking exhaust. Try another dealer and also IF your paper work confirms your suspicions then also try to talk with Suzuki themselves.

Personally the Vents are just as important as t he fact that it is DOT approved. Over heating is just as dangerous as not wearing a helmet…..if not more. Definitely look for well ventilated helmets.
