ParticipantTo expand and simplify……
Relationships are like something lost…. the harder you look to find it the longer you go without finding it. Quit looking for it and you realize its been right in front of you all along.Munch

Oh wait… .I think you were actually serious. LOL… I think there’s maybe 4 times I look down. 1 to make sure I am in neutral when starting, and to see gas level. 2…. umm periodical check of fuel level. 3 wellll actually this is last time and thats if I see a LEO near by and want to know just how much faster then I should be going that I was actually doing.

ParticipantWith me it was just the opposite. I had to play with mine until I get the buffeting clear. Which the best advice I got was just above eye level …usually.
Not sure on most aftermarket shields but the OE Vulcan one has no distortion period. Very optically correct.
I am excited my fairing is scheduled to come in tomorrow. I already gave my service manager the heads up on staying late so I can put it on.Munch
Participant+infinite. Nothing like a woman being able to handle a bike. Even more so to be able to go ride out together and enjoy moments with.

Participantas it will happen again and again you will eventually give up the ghost. However from another forum some are having success using oven cleaner.

ParticipantMost of the time you can’t tell. Unless the are um……. top heavy. Other then that for me its just another full face helmet going by. Heck even these days the colors of the gear don’t mean much. Trust me, saw a dude the other day on a sport bike pimpin’ “hello Kitty” gear.
Have you taken the MSF? Read the reviews on this site? Butt tested anything?Munch
ParticipantAlready starting to… got a good ride from Raleigh to Clarksville Virginia coming up Sunday, and in the second week end of October we are heading up to Blue Ridge Parkway.

ParticipantAlthough a bit big for a starter…. good choice in bike. I have the Classic LT version. Sat it beside a custom the other day man I did not realize how skinny the customs front tires are.
Welcome to the site. Keep us updated on your progress!!
oh and pics…we need pics!Munch
ParticipantThe chain lubing I would definitely recommend doing. Also would not leave that to a mileage gauge either. Chain maintenance will vary on usage, weather and other sum such. Oil change really isn’t that hard, biggest step is getting over the fear of doing it. Find an online forum and see if someone has done a write up on it.
If its a Kawi 250 try here! and just find your way to the sport bike section or the how to sections.Munch
ParticipantLuckily for me coming out of my “driveway” it’s inclined with a blind turn off to the right… I have to go left… I just cruise up to the top…ride a few feet or so on the oncoming traffic shoulder long enough to see the all clear and get on level ground then go over…. but I live off a 2 lane that even though it’s 55mph population is very few.

Participantmine is like yours only I go from a level 55 mph to a drop in to a gravel road.
Oh yea….and I always swing wide. No points for coolness with me there. My health is more important. If there is a neighbor looking to get out I am probably at 5 mph or less on entry. If I get concerned about a cage coming up on my rear…. I just get in far right side of lane so I can go shoulder if I know they don’t see me.Munch
ParticipantWBS: For mine I got the 9″ windshield. I ride in the winter to. Even though it looks good it still has to be functional to me. Yes, I also got the lower deflectors that mount up under the wing (not the kind that mount on the fork).
I had to get a whole set up for it as you can imagine because it wasn’t designed for my bike. Fortunately there have been others to do the legwork before me. If you haven’t check some Boulevard boards to see if anyone has tried to narrow you error of margin down.
Elwood: If you want I can mail you my OEM windshield after I get the new one mounted…. shield would be free…just get you to pay shipping. That bad boy is tall enough even for you. I think some of your issuse have been that the shield may be to high on the bottom ( allowing to much wind curl) and not tall enough at the top (pushing the wind over you).Trust me the Kawi one is big enough for both. You would just have to debadge the front of the chrome piece and figure out a way to mount it up.
