ParticipantRemember about a month ago I posted how I was pulled over and cited for having the “blue led fog lights” facing forward.
Well I went to court today.
Verdict: Case Dismissed
The DA said that led lights of any color is allowed under a couple conditions:
a. Not Flashing or strobing
b. Not to exceed 300 candlepower (which a regular headlight is under). Apparently cop cars have their flashing lights with a higher power so they project farther and brighter.
c. Preferably pointed downward.Saying that the lesson here is that the law is still not clear and an officer still may pull you over. Yes you will win the case (just bring a copy of the legislation from the Texas DPS site, proof they don’t flash) but it is just a waste of time. As for me, I did take them off, but I am just glad I won the case.

ParticipantI always like when citizens are able to stand up for their rights against the system…makes me proud of my country. It may not be perfect, but the very fact that one can do something like this shows how good we have it here.
That said, your point about how it’s best to stay away from that system whenever possible is right on.

ParticipantCongratulations, Sangria. I would argue that it was a gratifying learning experience rather than a waste of time, though.
