Maintenance Advice!

So, I’ve just posted my first 800km on my 250 and I’ve been browsing through the manual and it seems like its around the time for some maintenance. (Previous owner had a full check-up around the 3600 mark, I’m at around 4400.)

Things like lubing the chain, oil change, brake fluid and coolant etc.

I’m wondering if I could leave it to the end of the season, ‘cuz I don’t plan to ride anytime after October.

I was thinking that I’ll watch the shop winterize my bike, thus learning and than be able all other maintenance thereafter myself.

Is it dangerous to leave it ’till winter? Bike maintenance doesn’t exactly run cheap and even doing it oneself I’d have to get a full set of tools/oils and run the risk of screwing up my bike.

The chain lubing I would definitely recommend doing. Also would not leave that to a mileage gauge either. Chain maintenance will vary on usage, weather and other sum such. Oil change really isn’t that hard, biggest step is getting over the fear of doing it. Find an online forum and see if someone has done a write up on it.
If its a Kawi 250 try here! and just find your way to the sport bike section or the how to sections.
