All the major dealers have raised their msrp prices by at least 500 bucks for street bikes. Don’t know if that’s smart or not though…

Dun worry… tomorrow’s a new day for having the same humbling feeling… :-P

At least it sounds like no one was around to witness the lay down. Which is more than what I can say for my luck… ^_^

The best line on the street is the one that leaves you the most room to deal with unexpected situations and gives you the most vision through the turn. If you’re planning on canyon carving, look up and understand late apexes.

Edit: on the street you shouldn’t really be worring about the racing line or qualifying line. good to know though. you can never have too much knowledge…

yeh, if i’m there at the time the bicyclists are up, i take the backroads really mellow. They seem to have a knack of possibly getting into your lines. data-lazy-src=

Just pump up the tires and give it a go. Shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Just take into account starting and stopping will be affected as well as any attempts by him to fight you leaning should be met with swift justice to the nads. It may be tougher on the stopping bit if you can’t comfortable flat foot or solidly ball foot on at least one leg. flat footing with both legs would be most optimal. And he most certainly should not fidget when stopping or stopped, which if he does, swift justice to the nads again.

The correct term for that situation is “ass packed”. ;-)

WeaponZero, also glad you didn’t get ass packed. There’s a couple of good suggestions above. If you’re not gonna keep the bike in first make sure to keep checking your 6 with your mirrors. Every once in a while pump your front or rear brakes as well. make sure you leave enough room to be able to move to the right or to the left. If you don’t, don’t be afraid to go in the cross walk if there is one.

eh? it should be you shouldn’t release the rear brake if you lock it. That’s the MSF stance. You can release the rear brake til kingdom come as long as you don’t lock it.

An advanced technique for getting out of a rear wheel lock is to open the throttle and then slowly, gently release the rear brake.

That would be the SV. I’ve been getting ~55 mpg. From various duc forums on the internet, the best i’ve seen consistently was about 45 mpg.

Around here, the SV650 (all lines) have been sold out. From what I’ve heard mostly bought by beginners, *probably due to the new ninja 250s being unavailable and oh so sexah… that and dealers probably wheeling and dealing to make room for the 2009s…

*Disclaimer: that is just my opinion.
