You want to know if you have been out too long or too late. You want to know if you should hurry up and get home or take the scenic route. I have noticed that when I start to get tired or worn down I will miss turning off my blinkers. I will turn it on to turn at the stop sign, get a mile down the road and notice that I am still blinking. Hit the next light or sign and it happens again. This is my brain losing focus. This will happen on Fridays after a long week (enough that I almost consider not riding on Fridays at all), when I have been somewhere too late, and when I have been out riding for a long time.
Look for your own signs, but maybe some of you experience the same thing.
When you start to miss turning off your signals, it is time to park the bike.

around, I want it caught and shot now…September 13, 2008 at 3:38 am #12098MunchParticipantI would have to say for me its when I do one of two things….. 1st) Stop scanning for deer off to the side for quick maneuvers, at this point my brain is more focused on getting to the destination not so much on getting there safely or 2) I can fully remember ALL the lyrics to my favorite song.
The last one will let you know you are no longer concentrating on the ride but completely elsewhere in thought.Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is a prediction, but today…… is a Bi**h

1. i see a car right behind me and i have no idea how long its been there or how fast it got to me
2. ive got the mental ipod running at full blast, and i can almost hear every note and word in a song, thats the big warning for me… that my head is out of riding, time to focus and get to where ever i need to be goingSeptember 17, 2008 at 4:04 pm #12279RidleytheRedParticipantI’ve not had that problem yet, but when I’m in the car, I’ve done a slow drift to the side a couple times. I usually pull to the side and rest for 10-15 mins then go out and take a short wolk around the car to get my blood pumping again and head to where I’m going. That usually fixes me right up.
