bought it 3 weeks ago. https://www.bestbeginnermotorcycles.com/forum/forum-topic/1323/id-introduce

no. no twitchiness. it has the twin linear power delivery characteristics. 1st gears pretty tall though. Using more clutch to even out shakiness before getting above 4.5k rpms. it does not like being below 4.5k rpms. The throttles pretty stiff as well compared to the sv… takes a bit more wrist action to get to vroom. A fun bike. The brembo brakes are actually the hardest thing to get used to. Really precise and powerful. just got it back from 600mile service last tuesday… 200 miles since then… about 400 more before it’s “broken” in. can’t wait to open her up. ^_^

If you bought your bike new, I’d highly not recommend doing your own servicing unless you really know what you’re doing because what you do could void your warranty and cost you more than the service cost to fix whatever it is you borked. I’ve also never heard of any valve checks or adjustments needed on a 600 mile service. as for the bike being completely different or being reborn, um… wha? the only thing i know is that after 600 miles you should be able to open up the rpms more since you’re 1/2 through break in and yeh, that does feel a whole lot better than puttering around at some wuss rpm range. *shrugs*

my beef with the speed channel isn’t the harley shows. i quite like them, especially the custom build shows. My problem with speed is that it’s all mostly car stuff and reality stuff like wrecked. the moto stuff they do have are mostly poser shows with very little moto gp stuff. the moto gp stuff they do show are all old races as well. for me, i don’t care for the car stuff or the wrecked reality show stuff. I wanna see bikes and moto gp races. after a couple of months watching speed, i don’t even turn it to that channel anymore. I get my moto gp fixes off bittorrent.

need more details. like what how you fell. were you in a turn? how many gears did you downshift? did you lose traction? describe the things you do when you downshift and what you were doing during the times you fell. The only thing I can glean from your post is that you aren’t rev matching which is probably most of your problems right there.

the speed channel’s a complete waste of bandwidth. just my opinion from a couple of months watching it.

ideally, the foot never comes down, but you can bet it will come down if needed for quick balance corrections. i’m not saying always put your foot down, just that it’s a natural reaction and can work in keeping the bike falling on top of you and if you do it, who cares if other people looking at you think you’re a knob. at least the bike’s upright. that’s how i see it anyway…
