7 Reasons You Should Ride a Scooter Instead of a Motorcycle

The Ninja 250 has enough power to get you out of situations. And if a car is trying to hit you, doesnt matter what bike you have, you are already at a disadvantage.

The real questions you should ask yourself is what you need the bike to do and what use? Commuting? Zipping around town? Recreation?

If this is your FIRST bike, like Clay said, get into the MSF. Though its the common norm to start on smaller bikes, its not impossible to start on a larger bike. I also recommend no passengers until you are fully aware of your capabilities. I myself started on a 250 but one month later moved to a 650 when I got comfortable. And I am very glad I did!!!

Almost sounds like you have your mind made up and you are trying to get affirmation through justification. Dont rush into anything that could cost you your life. Make an educated purchase. Research, assess your needs and skills, and most importantly get into MSF.

By the way how old are you (no offense – just sounded like youre younger)?

LOL – If you can push a 600lbs+ bike with someone riding it to over 10MPH..all I can say is wow…

Man thats why I moved to Texas….its one of the last free”er” states in the US.

Both NY and Cali are starting to get overregulated. :(

I lived in both states before too…

SO the question I would have is would LEO actually enforce something like this and how would they know if something is stock on first glance, unless you have really loud obnoxious pipes….

On another note I just added some saddlebags last night. They are 100% cowhide leather $45 from Jafrum.com.

So I am going with the Punisher theme and got this etched headlight decal.

On the list of to-do mods not in any order:
    1. V&H Cruzer Pipes ~ $400 to $500 (w install)
    2. Quarter windshield ~$150
    3. LED Lights assembly ~$100-200 (w install)
    4. Hypercharger kit ~ $300-500 (w install)

    Sigh …need the money lol

LOL so Elwood – which part of the website caught your fancy? They do really have some good pricing and there is even a tall biker section for you – not much though.

I read there was minimal tweaking on the bike with the V&H and they are considered “slip-on”. Maybe some rejetting but no engine tuning. Yea I will probably try to get the dealer to add them….but man $400 for pipes is steep plus installation labor.
Probably will wait till after the holidays to get them.

Here is a close up of the bags

We dont have such strict laws in Texas….

And yes I want my bike to sound much deeper and more cruiser like. I also take it there is a slight performance upgrade by adding V&H pipes.

It was definitely fun and for a good cause.

Riding in such a large group was actually very fun and felt great. We road staggered formation in one lane, but we had police escort road guards to both sides of us to stop traffic, so we did not stop at any lights or turns. So we had minimal accordian effect.

Everyone was a competent rider even on the harder turns – no one laid out their bike. I gotta tell you the sound of 200 bikes all at once is freakin’ awesome.

90% of the bikes were harleys, we had a couple sports bikes, and even one Piaggio scooter 400. Though the bike that caught the most attention was that orange honda above. LOL
