Please o please tell me they thought they were being inventive cause that would be too funny. If not then they made a mistake and that’s sad…….natural selection at work but tragic for the families…..or was it that sweat got in their eyes and didn’t manage to see it in the road/trail/path of travel.

Is the db regulation from an announcement stand point or from environment peeps? Not sure if it’s like rock crawling where you need to hear and see your spotters either.

Don’t see how it could be an accident waiting to happen. Nor do I see the NEED to be appreciated by everyone.
Speakers, ear buds that emit music are no more dangerous then ear plugs. I have some ear buds that also double as earplugs and am smart enough not to have it blasting out like a rock concert.
It’s not the product it’s the person using it. Of course in this protect the stupid time of living we are currently in ……. well……… nvm.

Rider #1 non sex specific, non bike style specific-
“Man I know they got to be hot as all get out under all that gear. Had to cost them a fortune too… or mom and dad…. can’t tell their so decked out in the latest and greatest its hard to see what they are….gotta be limiting in movement and visibility too….. god I know it’s gotta suck at a red light for them….bet all the kids smile at them too thinking they look all Power Ranger-ish……..and that one over there in the day glow…… they looking to be a moving target for something above…. maybe they are running from Grape Ape……….”

Rider #2 non sex specific, non bike style specific-
“Look at the idiot. All they have on is a helmet and some gloves…. what good is that going to do them if they go down?…..betcha they think they look badd ass in those sunglasses to…..what happens if a bug smacks ’em right in the forehead while riding?….. what about weather…. oh I see the full face on the sissy bar….fat lot of good that’s going to do him if he has an unscheduled get off…. you’d never catch me in some thing like that on my bike………”
    ………………..
    ……………….
    ……………..
    …………..
    ………

Common denominator between the two riders…… both are so busy JUDGING the other that they have effectively become just as much danger to themselves and said rider by paying more attention to the other rather then what is in front of them…….. Ride your own ride, carefully, attentively and for the best reason…. for the enjoyment. Let THEM worry about what their risks are!

Rocks, rain, and general debris. If you don’t mind the occasional something being launched at ya from under neath. No there’s no aerodynamic consequence. Just be sure of what hardware or brackets that may need the fender to be on there.

    Closest i could find.
If anyone is going to have them Kuryakyn should be the first place to look. Though in my short search it doesn’t look to promising. If I am looking up the correct bike most of the turn up as bobbers which have a no floor board rule.

hmmm….. cumbersome at around town speeds. Couldn’t disagree with you more. If your talking chopper with excessive rake… .yea they are nasty to try and turn . But your average everyday cruiser can easily handle anything in town. Very much an ill conceived notion, my guess is either made by non cruiser riders or those that don’t know yet how to ride.

I agree with this, and disagree with this.

It’s a great notion and idea and much to the point of many a country song. Most people wait til they are dieing to learn how to live. Too many get caught up in the “keeping up with the Jones'” syndrome and often forget exactly what they are working for. Wanna learn what it’s like to appreciate life and living. Visit country folk and rednecks. We may be mired in red tape at times when it comes to bills but we are never short on fun. Whats the point in working for the money if you have no time to spend it? Or to have the shiny things just to have it as a commuter? And why is it that after all the decades we have spent digging up Egyptian ruins it has not sank in for most that- No you can not take the stuff with you!

Now my point of contention. This is not a reason, excuse, philosophy to become lax and lazy about the world around you. Sure you’ve had worse, but small changes can make it better….or even more so, keep it from getting worse. The trick is balancing the two. For each person that balance comes differently.
Work to improve your world and the world for those around you, work hard to get to the goals you would like to have, but STOP and look at the things you have done and appreciate the things you busted your ass to get. Thank your better half for putting up with your crap. Thank your kids for not being worse then the way they are ( besides they are a combination of you and your other half looking back at you) and always make time to saddle up and see all things you never normally take the time to look at. Don’t just speed from point A to point B….that’s a commute ….not a ride.

Cool little car. I would buy one….. if they were to ever make it in a non Fluff-n-stuff only affordable model. Right now you can bet anything that comes out will take years and years for the price to come down enough for the average and essentially most numerous commuter to be able to afford. For now we will probly see it in the stables of the “Green Celebs” while we hear about all their humanitarian efforts and how they are saving the world one motion picture at a time.

Would like to have one though. Would be a good answer to me staying out of my normal cage during Thunderstorms….other then that… I will stay with my bike.

check your MoM for the pad thickness….if you have it . If not from what I have seen most pads are deemed close to end of useful life right at 1/32’s of pad left….or depending the design once you no longer see the groove in the center of the pad.

For the cleaner. Make sure you are buffing it after you clean and dry. Wouldn’t use anything that has a wax in it. For my bike I just use S200 clean all. Basically spray on, wipe the tough spots then spray off with water. Take a towel and buff any hard water spots away.

That depends on the condition of the chrome and what your trying to get off.

May 30, 2010 at 4:47 pm in reply to: What’s a reasonable dealer markup for tires? #26822
    Munch

Ok…..here’s the thing we deal with also in the automotive industry.

First…. A dealership has no ties to the manufacturer so the price they pay is not going to be as low as you would think. Which means you will pay a touch more then you would think also. The reason place like Tirerack and other “suppliers” charge as little as they do is because they can sell the tire and more often then not be done with you until your silly enough to buy another one from them. Granted they offer warranties and other such. How well is that going to work when your on the side of the road with a blow out and they want you to ship their tire back to them as proof and wait 4 days for your new one to come in?

Yes most, not all, but most will charge you more for mounting a tire you did not purchase from them, and why wouldn’t they…. this is a part of consumers that really gets me…. Would you walk in to a RuthsChris Steakhouse and hand them a steak you bought from the grocery store and expect them to knock the cost down because you supplied the meat yourself? Or even walk in with your own steak period? They are in the business of making money and each time they take in a part from somewhere else they lose money on not selling the tire and the overhead they have in that tire- balancing, recycling fees, etc.

Now as far as the wait cause he was late….. umm…. gonna stay quiet on that one.
For the service you got…. to be honest if you walked out with the lower speed rating tire without raising hell…. that’s on you. I would urge you to go back before you have too many miles on them and demand that they put the tires on you thought you paid for and they get you out promptly and without any other charges. The air pressure thing might just be a difference in pressure gauges, sorry folks, not all gauges are created equal.

Original equipment….no. They are set up as turn signals only. You can find conversion kits on various sites that will allow you to turn your rear signals in to running lights. Usually involves a module and bulb exchange.
