If it were me, I’d be looking at perforated leather jackets. Actually, that’s all I wear are perforated leather jackets, in the summer. I’ve found them to be the same as tex/mesh in the hot summertime weather. For rain weather, I’ve got a set of gear for that occassion as well. But it’s pretty much leathers in the summertime.

Edit: Fully armored leather jackets that is…

Many have tried… many are left to waiting for the 09s… ^_^

Dunno what the law is really, but if the dealer warranties their used bikes, you should probably take it to them or call them to see if they’d fix it for no charge. If you bought as is, then I want to say you’d be hosed by the dealer… but even in this case, there may be some laws that would work in your favor. But there is the convenience of you fixing it yourself for only ~20 bucks and not having to wait for the dealer’s service queue and learning something in the process… So whatever you feel comfortable doing… Just bear in mind, if you hose this doing it yourself, you’ve left yourself in a bad position if something goes wrong with the bike afterwards.

Yeh, looking at custom stickers… actually “A” as in one custom design, which really isn’t a design… Just my online handle to put on the back of my helmet… /me looks sheepishly abashed…

Thanks though for the hint on where to look. *cheers.

Sorry. Never heard of it… The only thing I saw was a wiki article on their 125cc model bike. That bike didn’t seem impressive at all…

Don’t buy anything from them assholes. They were being completely uncool. Do you not have a motorcycle accessory store anywhere near you, like in a neighboring town/city? Most motorcycle dealerships won’t stock much. Accessory stores should have a wider selection of stuff. The main thing when starting to buy gear is to not get stuck on any particular brand. Make a note of the things about the fieldsheer that you liked and ask someone if they can recommend anything that has those features. Most moto jacket makers do offer pretty much those things you saw in the fieldsheer. One thing you can try is to do a google search over motorcycle accessories and your zip code. Ex. motorcycle accessories XXXXX

You should get a google maps onebox with all the motorcycle accessory shops near you. Make a note to disregard that suzuki and yamaha dealership. ;-)

Welcome. Jiriki has a ’08 ninja 250 and is roughly your size and weight… maybe a bit heavier… looks like a body builder… anyway, he was doing just fine keeping up with me on the highway at the end of our first bbm meetup. The 250 should be plenty fine.

The first bike looks like a CBR of some kind. You can see the honda logo on the side of the gas tank in the beginning. The second vid would be an sv650 as there’s only one exhaust can on the right side.

Cool. I’m not sure how econimically feasible it’d be since I’m not looking for much… I’d probably have to get a whole $some_gross, but I’d be willing to hear what you guys could do.

not quite a review from a beginner’s perspective, but might still be useful… Differences between the SV650 and 650R

No. The fairings on a GSX-R will not fit on an SV650s. You get the fairings from a suzuki dealer or from the suzuki website. The lower fairings for the sv650s will fit on ’03 – ’07 sv650s. You might be able to find someone selling them on ebay. Either way, the only issue is finding which color matches your color sv650s, but I think there’s only a few colors between ’03 and ’07 so it’s not too much of an issue.
