i think im going to seriously look into/buy the sv650s/sv650sf
i sat on one on friday and was very impressed. theres hardly any speed difference, its just in the midrange power up to 100 and that doesnt really mean a thing anyways.
so theres no difference between the sv650s and the sv650sf besides the flaring?
the sv650s i was sitting on was a dark blue, the guy told me you could easily buy the bottom part flaring and close it up just like the F.
so thats the difference between the s and the sf? just the bottom flaring?June 28, 2008 at 8:53 pm #8019megaspazParticipantfor 2008 and on up, there is no sv650s anymore. it’s now going to be the sv650sf and will include the lower fairings. Anything 2007 and older will be the sv650s which only comes stock with the upper 1/2 fairing.
But yeh, you can buy the lower fairings for the sv650s, but they ain’t cheap.

June 29, 2008 at 12:08 am #8025megaspazParticipantI got the ABS model. I like ABS. Less to think about. I’ve heard arguments against ABS on a first bike as you don’t learn proper braking control. I prefer to maximize every advantage I can get. FWIW, tests shows with a professional moto gp rider (look around Suzuki’s .uk website for videos), that using ABS has more effective braking than a bike without ABS.

wonder what all the people he was showing off for were saying lol
so much for that.July 1, 2008 at 6:00 am #8144intheb0xParticipanthey i was wondering what side fairings fit on this bike?
like could i get the side fairings off a gsxr and it would fit?
also could someone point me in the right direction of where i could buy the fairings.
i would like my bike to look like this.July 1, 2008 at 6:22 am #8145megaspazParticipantNo. The fairings on a GSX-R will not fit on an SV650s. You get the fairings from a suzuki dealer or from the suzuki website. The lower fairings for the sv650s will fit on ’03 – ’07 sv650s. You might be able to find someone selling them on ebay. Either way, the only issue is finding which color matches your color sv650s, but I think there’s only a few colors between ’03 and ’07 so it’s not too much of an issue.

Sorry, this thread title reminded me of that Old Spice hair and body wash commercial.
