ParticipantI’m not sure on OEMs. The SV has these flex stocks which I think you can twist them to point upwards a bit. I haven’t adjusted them though. Not sure how good they stay in position over time either. I personally like the European style with the signals on the mirrors like my ducati has.

ParticipantI suppose you could always try polish. It should just burn off over time though.

Participanthrm… let’s see… me passing car to left or right, accellerating to pass, suv in front goes left or right, where ever i’m going… yeh, no need for the suv driver to get advance notice that i’m changing lanes… @.@
One more thing to note. If you do get in an accident similar to the situation above, and your turn signals aren’t DOT approved, there’s one point against you in a law suit. Food for thought.

ParticipantAcknowledgement is one of those cool things about the motorcycling community. I try to nod or wave to any motorcyclist and scooter rider. I even nod or wave to bicyclists.

ParticipantFunny, I’ve been thinking about doing the same thing. A couple of things stopped me. I wouldn’t call anything that requires drilling into plastics universal, most replacement signals aren’t DOT approved, and the profile of them. The profile looks like they’d be harder to see for cars in front of you from their rear view mirror, especially them big SUVs. Usually for me, anything that I think isn’t a straight up drop in replacement, I take to a shop and have them do it. G’luck installing them, because those turn signals actually do look a heck of a lot better than the stock ones.

Participantmy body position and entry speeds weren’t condusive for dragging knee… that and the fact since my goal wasn’t to drag knee that day, i wasn’t even sticking it out.

ParticipantI like ducatis… very pleasing to look at. They do have a reputation for issues and high maintenance though. If that doesn’t bother you go for it.

ParticipantTires were pumped to standard street spec. I did talk to a tire guy the other day and he said the tires should be pumped heavier though. Since pilot powers are considerably softer than others, he suggested 36/36 front/rear.
My body position sucks. Well it might be ok for the amount of entry speed I was doing, which wasn’t very fast…

ParticipantDepends on the corner now doesn’t it? Which makes it a road condition issue. Some corners are blind, some are not. And don’t mistake the track being any safer than the street either. Shit happens there as well, and there isn’t a track day provider or seasoned track veteren that I know of that doesn’t say everytime they go to the track someone always crashes.
