You should listen to your parents and everything they tell you. They are absolutely right.
KickprivateParticipantWelcome to the forums and Welcome to BBM Swede, Enjoy your stay.
KickprivateParticipantRide every chance you get

KickprivateParticipantOpen up your tank and look in it.
I also suggest you practice flipping your reserve switch while riding. Do it in a empty parking lot please.
KickprivateParticipantGo outside, ride it a bit in front of your house until it stalls then open up the gas tank and listen. If it sounds like it just sucked in a whole bunch of air, report back.
Sometimes the vent hole on the tank will get plugged up. If it is plugged it will only let a small amount of fuel out at a time. Much like you let it sit for ten minutes then it works, you ride it, it stalls, you let it sit again and it works.
Also make sure your reserve switch is all the way on.
KickprivateParticipantWelcome denton eh? I’m about a hour away here in Fort worth. Another Texas Rider! YAY!
Enjoy the bike and see you out there on the highway.
KickprivateParticipantKool Weekend at Bernies, glad to hear you got some cash to spend on gear…. If that is what your are going to put it to…
I spent 1100 on gear even. About 200 more after I bought my bike
KickprivateParticipantVery coold mang. Glad to hear you got some gearz!
omgz!
I got a $50 Guitar center, Cycle gear and visa card as well as a $25 Target, Old Navy and Star Bucks gift card. I also bought myself a Ibanez electric-acoustic guitar, tank bag and a bunch of clothes! Oh and a electric hear trimmer and shaver. w00t!
As far as games go. I got COD4: modern warefare from my boss!
KickprivateParticipantJust be careful when buying, if you feel you will want the big brother to the KLX the KLR650 then look for one and get it. When I ro0ed one I didn’t see much of a power struggle between bike and user. Although one thing you do have to watch is they do sit a bit high, but eh, its like riding your big sisters bike when you were 7, you may have to use a curb
just make sure you’re comfy on it.
KickprivateParticipantwoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Grats!
KickprivateParticipantYou’re on the right tract here. 500 CC’s is a good range to start in. Check out some of these articles. As far bikes, if you are after a cruiser and want a harley in the future, do your research on the Vulcan or like bike.

Vulcan Review
https://bestbeginnermotorcycles.com/kawasaki-vulcan-500-ltd-reviewAnd for SAG’s here is the ninja 500.
https://bestbeginnermotorcycles.com/kawasaki-ninja-500-reviewI ride a ninja 500 and love it. I also love the fact that you don’t really get into trouble on it until you about 7k RPM’s. That’s when I feel the bike really comes alive!
KickprivateParticipantThe KLR650 is a lot different then any other bike i ever rode. I had a chance to test a older one and when I did grab to much throttle (On purpose) the shocks absorbed most of it before anything else. Honestly I would consider that one over the 250 as far as dual sports go.
My next bike will be a KLR650!
KickprivateParticipantMy first gas powered two wheels was a 49CC scooter that topped out at 25 mph. I was 14 at the time and rode this thing everywhere!
Now I ride a Solar Yellow Ninja 500R and love it. I ride this thing everywhere also
