I ride a 2007 ex500R (ninja 500) and love it. It’s fun and easy to ride and even more it’s easy to work on. I’m getting ready to do my valve adjustment as I have had it a month and a half already and I am 50 miles over 1000 and I refuse to pay the 200 bucks it would cost me. Plus I get to make sure its done right!
KickprivateParticipantWelcome to the forums Boy Dog.
Have you a bike in mind? Maybe a style of bike that you would like to see under you?
KickprivateParticipantNow that I think of it, it may be the next bay over or just shortly after that. I know its a park so you pay to get in but it’s not very much.
Last time I went to Hana (About a year ago) most of the back way there was paved however the part that was not was crappy like nothing else. So don’t think about taking the back way
KickprivateParticipantYou said it right Kari. Motorcycle and scooter theft is VERY VERY high and worst of all, the cops won’t do nothing about it. If a bike is stolen, it’s gone forever. Unless of course you get Lojack, but the honolulu police dept. prolly still has Commodore 64’s so good luck with that
All kidding aside, make sure you have a good safe enclosed place for your bike. Do not leave it on the street or in a apartment parking lot, it will be gone before you can spell Mississippi 36 and a half times
KickprivateParticipantComing from a surfer, I love the north shore. Though it’s to big for me. The most I would challenge is Honolua bay on a bad day. Which means the surf is pretty much 6′ Back and thats about the limit for me.
I loved Wiamea bay. I always liked when the waves splashed over that large rock out there. The sunset was indeed awesome. Did you go into the forest reserve back there? It’s really kool! It cost about ten bucks but it is worth it!
Watch out for sandy roads and ride safe.
BTW have they started the inter-island ferry yet? if so you should take a bike over to Maui and do the road to Hana! Just watch out for the curves, they will be very slippery!
KickprivateParticipantBorn and raised on Maui myself. Honolulu sucks! But it enjoy while you’re there!
