What is everyones first motorcycle? I originally road a honda elite scooter before I ever got on a motorcycle. It was only 80cc’s and it topped out at around 35 mph, but it was a blast to ride around the neighborhood. At the time I didn’t know anything about safety gear so I don’t think I even wore a helmet while riding it!

A few years later I managed to buy my first motorcycle which was a 2002 Suzuki GS500. It’s a great bike, although a bit cold hearted. I wish I never would have sold it, it would be nice to ride it again up in the hills.

My first gas powered two wheels was a 49CC scooter that topped out at 25 mph. I was 14 at the time and rode this thing everywhere!

Now I ride a Solar Yellow Ninja 500R and love it. I ride this thing everywhere also :D

I am the proud new owner of my 1st new “used” bike :-)

1993 Yamaha Seca II – dark green metalic naked bike (will post pic’s soon)

I spent the weekend driving around our neighborhood staying mostly in 1st & 2nd gear (10-25mph) practicing and learning the basics before I attempt going above 2nd or leaving our neighborhood. Stops, Right hand turns, Left hand turns, Smoothly accelerating away from stop sign etc. We have one of those circle round about type things on the end of our street, so I even drove through that a couple of times. I haven’t taken MSF yet, but scheduled to go mid January. I did however take & pass the written motorcycle exam at DMV so I do have a valid learners permit good for 1 yr.

Some people claim the Seca II is not a powerful engine bike, and can be doggy – but thats cool with me for now – the less power I have available at my wrist, the better off I feel :-) So far the bike is doing great for me as a beginner. Not too powerful on take off, and accelerates pretty steady & gradual & the brakes are not grabby.

I think the seca II is a great first bike, but the first mod you have to do to it is take off that mini front fairing! It looks soooooooooo much better as a naked bike :)

Honda trail 70, topped out at thirty miles an hour, three speed, no clutch. Still have it too!

Nighthawk CB250, although before that I was riding around on Kymco 50 and 125cc scooters in Taiwan, and a Vespa ET2
    here in the USA.

my first bike was a yammha dt175mx field bike witch my mental brother in law tauhght my to ride
these were his exact words ‘what you wanna do is let the clutch out about have way an then take the bike up to about 8000rpm
then just flick the clutch out’ (i still dont know if he was being serious) needless to say i fell of a lot but once i got the hang of it and bilt up confedence it was great fun! in fact id say (and im not alone in this) that the dt is one of the best bikes iv ever riden.

My very first bike, which I just bought 2 1/2 weeks ago (Suzuki S40) is now in the pics forum. I’d done lots of slalom skiing and riding “motorcycles on the water” but had never owned my very own bike. Only two days and riding mostly around my neighborhood and a bit on the freeway feeder roads which are very close to my house but have logged around 30 miles so far and am loving it :)

He who laughs last didn’t get the joke…
