Altough my handle is mochiMAN, I’m a girl. My friend D., who hopefully will join this forum, gave me that name since we started talking about learning how to ride together, and it stuck. Anyhoo, I am an 18 year veteran of NYC currently exiled in New Jersey (Jersey City) and just yesterday took my first private lesson at MSS in the Bronx. I heard it was a good idea to take a private before the BRC. My instructor, Freddie, told me I had a “very very good” first lesson and my power-walking was “great.” Our lessons was on a 125cc bike. I am now officially HOOKED and can not wait for my BRC and to get my first bike.

I have my moto permit from NJ and am planning on taking my BRC sometime in November. I would like to take my BRC at MSS, but it looks like NJ won’t accept a BRC from an out of state school :(

Look forward to being part of the scene here!

    Later…
    -mm.

Good luck on your BRC! I loved my class. I thought it was so much fun. I escaped from Jersey (exit 14A) about eight years ago to move to California. There is life after Jersey ;-)

My hair is pretty fluffy when it’s not all tied up and stuffed in a helmet ;-)
The curls luckily prevented me from doing some of the awful feathering (wings?) and high bangs (i think it was called “the claw”) that my high school classmates did with their hair.
