Took me 10 mins to install.. All you do is loosen the break line.. Unhook it.. Slide the meta tubing and spring over the line and reattach.. A little tricky reattaching with the spring on it.. But it’s not too hard.. Moved my friction zone in about an inch…

Congrats on passing! I had a hard time with the Uturn box myself… Did so-so on what little practice we had but blew it on the test.. Mostly from nerves I’d say.. My only criticism with the class I took was that we could have had a little more time practicing the exercises.. Just when I felt I was getting it or in the case of the Uturn Box, before I had it down, we were moving on to the next exercise..

Sangria.. I suggest getting the clutch kit they have for the 650.. Was the first thing I did to my bike.. Really helps with clutch adjustments and it’s a cheap fix to do…

I was looking at the DR-Z400SM as a first bike myself… Very comfortable to sit on if you’re a taller rider…

    Here’s the specs..

Yeah.. I love the look of them as well.. I wanted an MG soooo bad when I was a teenager.. But.. As long as yer good at fixing em their great fun to drive… I ended up getting a 57 Ford Fairlane.. Still ended up being a lot of work on the upkeep… Oh well..

Yeah.. I’m thinking about moving up to the 950 next year after I have more time and miles under my belt on the 650.. She’s definitely a sweet looking ride..

The only shifting issue I have with my 02 is that sitting still sometimes it doesn’t want to down shift into first.. In those cases I’ve had to roll the bike slightly while trying to down shift to get it into gear.. Mostly I try to down shift while I’m still coming to a stop and it shifts into 1st fine…

Well good luck with it.. Let us know how it goes… Oh.. And don’t freak out too much on the U-turn box like I did… :)

Hey monster.. Welcome.. I had the same thing with the seat height being 6’1″… Either the Kawasaki 500 or Yamaha V-Star 650 are good fits height wise…

Welcome to the group! And you’ll probably be glad you started on the 250 and it’ll make moving up to the 500 that much sweeter.. ;)

When I took my BRC I was told that students dropping out was a regular occurrence… You never know until you try something.. In my class about half of the riders had never even been on a motorcycle.. So there’s no reason to feel like you’re going to be the most inexperienced person there.. Half of your class will probably be in the exact same position as you… And let me tell you.. Some of the most nervous and horrible people at the start of the riding portion ended up by the end of the class being able to handle the bikes just fine and passing.. The worst part is getting over the nerves… To me I think that’s the key.. Don’t go in expecting to be perfect or thinking anyone expects you to be perfect.. Just go.. Learn.. And have fun… At the least.. You’ll get a better understanding if motorcycling is right for you or not.. At the best.. You’ll pass and get your license.. :)
