Hi folks. It’s been raining for the past day, and because my cover doesn’t fully fit my new bike (a tall Versys requires a bigger cover than the Ninja 250… who knew), it’s been getting wet. I thought it would just be the bottoms of the wheels that were exposed, but it looks like the vent spout on the cover’s top has been letting water in as well, dripping water down and off the side of the fuel tank (the vent’s not at the proper downward angle because of the misfit).
It’ll still be drizzling tonight, but first thing tomorrow, when the sun comes back, I want to do what I can to help dry off and take care of the bike.
Aside from the obvious of toweling down any parts still damp, what should I do to help prevent rust and whatnot? Me and the bike thank you for any and all tips.

Not sure if it works on chrome, but works fine on the swingarms, cans, and exhaust pipes on my bikes. Apply to cloth first and then wipe cloth over metal bits – direct application on plastics. YMMV.

Even the tires (so they don’t dry rot!). Don’t listen to Elwood and make sure you coat your breaks in anti corrosive, it will allow your breaks to last much much longer! Also you can disassemble the clutch and coat the plates with anti corrosive also.
Once you ahve done that preparation buy an oversize fish tank and fill it with a clear oil based lubricant. Submerge your bike in it and enjoy! It will never rust wear or … actually do anything!(this is what happens when Phil gets bored at work …)
