CandiceParticipant
At least pooping my pants would have been some kind of action/response.
Seriously though, there was NO ONE around, not a soul besides myself. I could have just pulled out and gone throught the stop light, I could have pulled over to the shoulder, I could have done whatever. BUT, then I was thinking what if I chose to pull out into the path he was taking, then I would get run over anyways. Hmm, it’s quite a dilemma.
Unfortunately I did not have an escape plan this time because the one time I wasn’t paying attention or expecting it – it happened. Isn’t that just the way of it?
CandiceParticipantI agree. People have guns too.
I’m a lover not a fighter.
CandiceParticipantLooks like a nice bike. Have fun touring!
CandiceParticipantI think I was trying not to panic because I did think, briefly, that I should give a couple of fingers or yell or do something but I was too freaked out and I had a whole day of riding ahead of me so I was just thankful he didn’t hit me I think. Not thankful because I wanted to ride that day but thankful that I was alive and in one piece.
CandiceParticipantWhat kind of earplugs am I suppose to get, I would love to hear my engine instead of all that wind!
CandiceParticipantHey, I love the helmet and jacket! Nice color choice too. Now, what bike you gettin’????
CandiceParticipantSeen some birds, has anyone collided with a bird? That can’t feel good. Otherwise, haven’t seen anything too spectacular, city living you know. I see more wildlife in my backyard though – coyote, fox, deer, screech owl, whistle pig, squirrels, etc. Nothing as exciting as up above.
CandiceParticipantWent on a group ride on Sunday to Starved Rock in Illinois and OMG! Talk about windy. Cross winds were horrifying. One of the old timers told me that morning that wind doesn’t bother him at all, well, by the time we were out for an hour and stopped at a gas station he said he takes back what he said, he’d rather ride in the rain the wind was so bad. Well, I managed and my attitude is that any other windy day will be easy after that.
Also went on my first night ride home from cruise night on Friday and I was so glad that my old-timer friend lives in my area so we could ride home together. I would not have felt comfortable riding by myself that day. I’m gonna have to work on that I guess. It’s weird and dark and I was afraid of the cars. I’m gonna have to suck it up and just get over that.
CandiceParticipantCool about the Pledge but do I use it on the paint, chrome, and aluminum or just the painted parts? I like nice and shiny!
CandiceParticipantThere were some Ducati guys at the Triumph Demo I went to in May and the Ducati guys kept to themselves whereas the Triumph and other type of bike owners were all very friendly. Just something I noticed but I wasn’t offended. It’s their loss afterall not to get out there and meet COOL people. Hee hee.
CandiceParticipantGood luck, sounds like you will do a good job based on your sore BUTT! Practice makes perfect you know!
CandiceParticipantI wave/nod at motos and scoots. I nodded at a lady on a scooter yesterday, she nodded back. It was all good!
I also acknowledge someone when they pull up beside me, I’ll just give a little nod. One guy I see every morning refuses to look at me so I don’t bother with him, he always looks miserable, but everyone else seems cool that I’ve encountered so far.
CandiceParticipantThat’s good to know. I like that they don’t tolerate drinking and riding either.
CandiceParticipantSounds like you are doing good and keeping busy. Cool about uniting sportsbikers with cruisers! I like your windshield too!
CandiceParticipantHubby ordered the textile ones I liked on Friday. Yeah! I am so happy I didn’t go with chaps. Plus with these pants I’m getting I can wear shorts to work underneath, that would be awesome since it’s in the 80’s-90’s these days now.
