Yeah, and Kimbo Slice sucked before he got beat by that petrozelli or whatever his name is. Although I give props to him because he has accomplished a lot from being homeless and stuff but he needs more training. They made too big a deal over him.

I see plenty of people riding who are not even close to athlete status, they do just fine. You will be fine too and I am sure you will burn more calories riding than sitting in your car so that’s a plus! I have to say, though, that my freakin’ hands are killing me! I hope I don’t get man hands from working the clutch and front break. I think I’ll be getting popeye forearms too.

I haven’t been on the interstate, technically, yet but I was thinking the same thing.

I still like to read the stats anyways, makes me think that I better not get too comfortable of course realizing that there are so many factors out there that who really knows. One of the more famous reports said that people with white helmets had a 24 percent less chance of an accident than those with other colors, now, I know this could be a total load of crap but I bought a white one just in case it’s true. :)

Hey, it looks like a good lookin’ bike and sounds like you are happy with it! Were you in Thailand doing Muay Thai or something? I wanted to go there to volunteer at an elephant sanctuary but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I like your description about the family of 4, their dog, and their groceries on that little bike – that’s quite the mental picture LOL!

Thank you for that, I am finding it very helpful. And thanks everyone for sharing your ideas and experiences, this is all making me feel much better that I am on the right track. :)

So, I looked at my jacket last night and it has reflective piping/material all over it – YEAH!

I also went to Wal-Mart and bought their reflective tape and put some on my helmet, if I find I don’t like it I will try that 3M tape suggested above because that stuff looks REALLY reflective.

Munch – I like your style of waving people thru the 4 way stops, I was doing that in the beginning when I was riding through my neighborhood trying to get the guts up to encounter real traffic but maybe I do that anyways now too.

Hee hee – Andrew – I was wondering what he was talking about, Ninjas!

Cool! That’s what I was originally thinking is that I would put little designs on the helmet also! And on my black back pack I was going to put HI and HOLA all over it, you know, it’s reflective AND friendly. I think I make a trip to wal-mart tonight, $2.00 is so the right price! Oh my gosh, we are so fashionable for $2.00!

I think my front headlight is fork mounted, so, I think I will continue to do the wiggle (with a little giggle) then (away from the driver was smart advice – thank you). I also like the safety vest or Xinglet thing too. That seems better than tape for sure.

Thanks for the modulating brake light explanation, I will just do as I am doing – manual style brake tapping.

    :)

That would be nice also! I love luxury items like that but, I don’t have millions so no luxury butt warmer on my motorcycle for me.

Yes, weaving like through cones but then I thought if a cop sees that he probably pull me over, so I guess I won’t do that anymore. What are modulating brake lights? I do flash my lights when I am stopped and I see cars coming up behind me.

I don’t think my jacket has reflective piping but there’s a lot of things I missed, like I couldn’t breath with my helmet on and my brother opened up the vent and said, can you breathe now? DAARRRR. I’ll make sure to look for that and I will also remember everyone is out to get me so I don’t get a false sense of security. Having a false sense of security is probably dangerous.

I saw on msnbc the other week a really cool picture of a guy in a 125cc race and I thought to myself, that would be fun, then I thought, I wonder if I am too old to start now and it is so true from what you pointed out above. I feel really old now and silly. :)
