CandiceParticipant
We have the CHROME KITTEN CRUISERS in Chicago for all girl riding, how cute is that?
CandiceParticipantI used to Live in good old Vancouver BC! We lived in North Vancouver on Grouse Mountain. Loved it out there. Thanks for the idea to look up all girl riding groups, I’ll have to see if they have something like that in Chicago. Have fun!
CandiceParticipantCongratulations! Glad you survived unscathed! I get tingly feet on my 650 as well, I didn’t like that part so much but oh well.
CandiceParticipantI was out in the Joliet/Mokena/Minooka area “country” roads as well. I was on 55, 80, route 6, and Laraway. I saw tons of motorcycles, maybe I waived at you! Hee hee. If you see a chick in white helmet, white jacket, it’s me! I did not get on 355 because I didn’t have my I-pass with me, I guess I would just put that in my pocket and go thru? I don’t know, I guess I’ll try it and see if it works. I was also thinking about riding to the city because all my friends live there but, I don’t know, that 55 to 90 transition gets a little whacked.
Yeah, they usually do go 75-85 on the highway around these parts, but I don’t know, they were all Sunday drivin’ I guess (even on Saturday), I mean 60 in a 65? Does that even make sense? NO. Oh and I have a Suzuki LS 650 so my pick up is ok, I think. I used my pick up to go around those damn 18 wheelers – scary.
CandiceParticipantThank you for making me laugh, Chromium Ghost, my co-workers are wondering what the hell is so funny. Love your stop light routine, that is great.

CandiceParticipantYeah, I lock the helmet up using the brackets but they could still cut it off on the material part and all that is really secure is the brackets. I had a hard time at first also securing my helmet to the helmet holder but then someone kindly showed me to hang the helmet on the back blinker and then secure it to the helmet holder/lock thing, that works much better. Interesting helmet slash proof bag above. I was thinking the same thing, who wants a strapless helmet.
CandiceParticipantI meant to say – does anyone lock their handle bars – but after I saw my mistake I figured everyone knows what I meant, hee hee. I figured it out by the way, had to turn bars to the left and then a little to the right like Ranette and some others suggested.
How about my helmet? I’ve been using the helmet lock on my bike so I don’t have carry it in with me but I’m thinking someone could really just cut it off quite easily. No problems so far but my helmet won’t fit in the locker at the gym.
CandiceParticipantHello! Welcome! Can’t wait to see the pictures. I heard February is a good time to buy a bike, but, I couldn’t wait either.
CandiceParticipantI love every pot hole I hit! The fun ones are when my butt comes off the seat about a foot. I really need to learn to avoid those. Hee hee.
CandiceParticipantI was initially thinking you maybe should not get a bike but I suppose you know what you can handle. I hope they have really good roads in Guam with no pot holes like we have in Illinois. I ride a cruiser style bike and sometimes I feel an ache in my lower back and I don’t have back problems. Hopefully you will get the right bike and do your back exercises and all will be good!
CandiceParticipantEnjoy the MSF course, I thought it was quite excellent, and welcome! I like the elephant sanctuary you have there in Tennesse, Hohenwald or some such place.
CandiceParticipantCongratulations on getting your NINJA. That is exactly what I did when I got my bike Labor Day weekend. First I rode it up and down the street just practicing starts and stops, once I got those good then I went around the neighborhood, then I went to the gas station because I needed gas, then I went to a farther gas station and bought lotto tickets and so on and so forth, now I’m driving the 25-30 miles to work. I haven’t heard of track days but I would look into it for myself to see what it’s about. I already am planning on taking the experienced rider course that the MSF offers but you have to have your M class for a year first. I am also especially interested in street survival skills. There is a lot of good stuff on line, I just keep pulling up articles and use what I find helpful. Enjoy!
CandiceParticipantOk, I better start locking it then. I will try again tonight. If I can’t figure it out I’m going to pick up my plates on Saturday so I can have them show me.
Megaspaz, thanks for the good tips!
Ranette – I think you may have solved my problem, many thanks!
