Hello everyone, my name is Jasmine and I’m from Vancouver BC. I’ve been reading and re-reading this wonderful site for about 2 months now and everytime I finish an article it seems to re-affirm why I want to ride. I am set to take a beginners riding course in the spring and I couldn’t be more excited. There are actually even all girl riding groups to join !! Anyway I just wanted to stop in and say hi. Thanks for such an awesome site.

I used to Live in good old Vancouver BC! We lived in North Vancouver on Grouse Mountain. Loved it out there. Thanks for the idea to look up all girl riding groups, I’ll have to see if they have something like that in Chicago. Have fun!

Candice that’s awesome that you have found a group. What do you ride ??

I took the Motorcycle Safety Class the weekend of August 9th, and bought a 2003 Suzuki Savage LS 650 that only had 744 miles on it Labor Day Weekend. It’s turned out to be a great beginner bike for me. The first 2 weeks I just rode around the neighborhood on it, then I made little errand runs, like up to the gas station for gas, out for a lotto ticket, to the library, that sort of thing and then I started riding it to work by about the 3rd or 4th week. What are you thinking of getting?

Glad you’re excited about riding.. It’s a great way to get around as well as a great hobby.. This web site has been a wealth of information to me and it’s wonderful to have so many other new riders to talk with and learn from their experiences..

I’ve got my little heart set on a Kawasaki Ninja 08 – 09 model. The first time I ever wanted to ride was when I was just a little girl and I saw a Kawasaki Ninja for the first time. It was love at first site of course ! So from that moment I’ve always looked at street bikes. Now I guess I’m not a newbie 100%. When I was much younger I rode a friends dirt bike and had a blast. I would spend weekends with her and her family out one their acres of land riding around and kickin’ up dirt. Anyways, can’t wait to take my beginner course.
