WendySkeletonParticipant
Thanks for the comprehensive guide!
It’s the 250cc version of the Virago. I went to a dealership and it was give or take, $7,500 including on-road costs.
Also, what does “market price” mean?
WendySkeletonParticipantYou, as a beginner, I would recommend getting something where you can flat-foot, just so you can get confidence. But later on, you will find your balance and even tip-toeing will eventually be fine where you won’t feel like you’re going to fall off. To give you an idea, here’s a much larger bike than the ones you mentioned:

This lady here is actually under 5 feet.
WendySkeletonParticipantI don’t know why they bothered banning mobile phones while driving. You don’t need to, because it’s common sense that you shouldn’t be doing something else when you’re concentrating not hitting something/someone.
WendySkeletonParticipantI thought it was a 250cc?
WendySkeletonParticipantLmao, I just found this thread so random for some reason.
Awesome to know that there are female riders out there. 98% of the time, it’s usually a guy riding it, and it gets annoying. Like, where are the ladies?
Oh, and I hope you waved back too.
WendySkeletonParticipantI must ask, what’s the deal with the squid? How did you come about choosing it for the shirts?
WendySkeletonParticipantWhy didn’t I find this thread earlier?
And yes, Ben, total agreement with you there.
I kind of think that those people who don’t get it are perhaps in some sort of denial. And yes, truth is, people who go about asking if they should ride a 600cc bike for their first have in fact already made up their mind and are just looking for approval from experienced riders. Once they don’t get the answer they like, they spit the dummy.
And the other ones that kill me are the ones that go, “I might not look that great on the 250cc motorbike.” Like, omg, how much vanity is in that person?
M’kay, rant over.
WendySkeletonParticipantYeah, glad to hear your friend’s okay as well.
Though I wonder, if your friend really is responsible, why didn’t he object to riding a 1600cc motorbike? I wonder how much riding experience he’s had; you don’t even need to be a motorbike guru to know that riding a 1600cc requires much more experience and maturity that your friend apparently had but failed to show.
WendySkeletonParticipantI guess they both do well. It’s just that leather has that cool factor.
WendySkeletonParticipantWhen you said “fanny fatigue”, I got worried, because fanny in Australia means the “front side”.
WendySkeletonParticipantI’m guessing you’re into cruisers… what about the Yamaha V-Star and Virago and the Suzuki Intruder?
Unless you’ve already considered them and disregarded them, then disregard my mentions.
WendySkeletonParticipantGlad you had fun.
Okay, people saying how they want to ride a 1100cc motorbike on their first go are crazy. It just goes to show how people don’t do their research first. Yeesh.
WendySkeletonParticipantThere are helmets with purple flowers? WOW. I want one now. Extra points if you can match the underwear AND the helmet with the motorbike.
I don’t know if I could ever give my friends a ride. One of them is really squirmy and she’ll probably be screaming about the wind being too cold or something. And then it’ll end in a lawsuit.
WendySkeletonParticipantLMAO! It looks like you’re sleeping there.
WendySkeletonParticipantI’ve read some reviews about the GMAX GM68S helmet and it has been positive so far. Plus it is VERY cheap, about $US119.95; seems to me it puts the helmets that Arai and Shoei produce to shame.

EDIT: I have also seen it go for cheaper, plus I believe you get some free helmet gear with it as well.
