yeah this came up on the sv forum. check out the spelling at the bottom right of the page screen apparently its legit tho.
not sure how many of the colors will be coming to NA, as NA didnt get all the same colours as rest of world in 09. I do like the all red version tho The blue looks darker but who knows.
I dont think there are any technical changes from 09 glad to 10 glad.
japan is getting a 400cc gladius… that would be nice but mostly it seems wrapped in the 650cc frame so you’d still have the weight/size of the 650 with the 400cc engine.
stuParticipant1500$? for that I’d remove it myself and find the loose wire/fure and see whats going on. $1500 sounds like a joke. unless its physically damaged I’d check for loose/broken wire, bad fuse, failing that I’d check the pcb for dry solder joints.
stuParticipantWell the Gladius is my first bike and I’m loving it so far
September 11, 2009 at 2:30 am in reply to: My Gladius (largs pics inside for those who demand pics!) #22293stuParticipantA, how did you remove the lower silver plastic parts, I’ve tried that but can’t figure out how to disconnect them from the black part of the seat, I can feel + see the clips, just can’t push them back through… dont particuarly want to break something just yet
any change in bike performance with the loss of the muffler? Its the one super hideous aspect I dont like, but a yoshimura or anything else is out of my price range, but at least can be changed..
I just gotta say it rides soooo nicely!
stuParticipantthe er6n had a lower seat height of like 1/4 inch, but they could have had the rear preload dialed different than the gladius (they were next to each other in the shop). I did not like the gauges on the er6n at all.
stuParticipantThanks for the comments folks. The wife has given the green flag to go buy which is great.
I wont be jumping on a 650 I really want the kawai 250SF but not sure about the seat height, I wanna go find a dealer and sit on one… But I REALLY like the Suz TU250X, makes me think of those awesome 60’s british bikes that I liked.stuParticipantWell I passed, I’m now fully licensed. Aced the written (which was as easy as it could get) and scored 9 points on my riding test. I did the box double u turn no probs all morning, come exam I hit line grrr… got a point for juuuust going over my stoppage distance for my speed, and then they said I went to slow into one of the corners.. and that was it.
overall it was amazingly basic but I had never ridden a bike before taking this course, so kinda chuffed. turned out a lot easier than I expected.
stuParticipantthat thing looks so cool. reminds me of the old english bikes in a way.
July 14, 2009 at 2:17 am in reply to: Just licensed female– new to riding, which bike do I pick?! #20584stuParticipantI like the looks of the tu250.. shame it does not have as good MPG as some if its class competitors
stuParticipant(car driving since I dont have a bike yet), black bear the size of a small truck, an ostrich escaped from someones farm (that was bizarre!). we hit a turkey vulture that was in flight (those things are so slooooow to take off). run over snakes (they make a surprising POP sound), hit a skunk, close called several thousand deer and hundered odd hunting hounds with gps collars running everywhere on the roadway.
stuParticipantthe motard/dualsport bikes get the best MPG it seems. honda CRF230M gets 90odd mpg while the kawa KLX250SF gets 80odd…
I like the kawasaki over the honda when comparing the two.
stuParticipantman that sure looks sweeeet! our west is sure different to out east I hope I get to see more of this great country than my currently-native east-cost.
stuParticipantlol you make it sound so easy, yeah you can swap the cables.. if you want to flush the entire hydraulic system and fill it back up with dot5.1.
stuParticipantOn a mtn bike you cant really ‘flip’ integrated brake/shifters as then you’d be pushing down to shift up and pulling up to shift down etc. I don’t run integrated, but my current brakes, the hydraulic hose enters the reservoir at the bottom of it, if I flipped it, it would be more to the top than bottom, as well as the reservoir seal now being underneath, I’m not sure how well that would work out (its not a closed system).
freaks my wife out when she goes from her mtn bike to mine, but gives me an excuse not to ride the girly bike
stuParticipantthanks, thats some good info you give there.
