3 of the big 4 have revealed their 2010 models online! I got all these links from ohio-rider.net. They may not take you straight to what you want to see, but they will take you to place that will eventually get you there.
Kawasaki

Check out the looks of the new Ninjas! I really like all the models in green, especially the 250 and ZX10. I was disappointed with the only color choice for the ER-6n (black).Honda

Honda finally has a model that captures my interest, the NT700V. However, the colors are boring: silver or metallic red.Yamaha

Just when I was getting to like the FZ6, looks like they may not be making them anymore.Ok where is Suzuki? They are what I’m looking forward to the most. (Gladius, GSX650F, Vstrom 650)
October 7, 2009 at 6:42 am #22703eternal05ParticipantThey’re always the last to release new product info. It’s too bad, since like you, I really only care about what’s happening on the ’10 GSX-R600. It’s well overdue for some pretty serious changes.
October 7, 2009 at 4:07 pm #22704JackTradeParticipantI was hoping for Kawasaki green, or that great burnt orange color.
Still, looks good in black, with the red spring.
Why does Honda keep refusing to make a middleweight standard to compete with the Gladius and ER-6n? A 650 Nighthawk would be pretty sweet…
Also, the Kawasaki website does seem to indicate that it’s true that the Ninja 500r is no longer being made…there’s no 2010 model.
October 8, 2009 at 11:20 am #22705WeaponZeroParticipantThe new Z1000 has now officially become my dream bike. Holy shit.
October 8, 2009 at 11:46 am #22706WeaponZeroParticipantHonda could do wonders in the market right now to come out with a new, updated Hawk GT650 (the bike the SV650 was based on). The truth is, JackTrade, they had one: The Honda Hornet 599. But it sold poorly because every single magazine review said it performed poorly in comparison to the SV650 and Yamaha FZ6 (its main competitors). So Honda discontinued it after only a couple of years of selling it here in the states. They still sell it over in Europe, however, where naked bikes outsell sportbikes tremendously.
Yes, the Ninja 500R is being discontinued because Kawasaki believes there’s no reason to continue producing both the 500R AND the 650R. Think of the 650R as the 500R’s replacement, just… a few years early.
IMO Honda’s biggest hole in their lineup is a more street-oriented sportbike. The VFR used to be it back when it was a carbureted 750, but as they added more features such as increased displacement, ABS, fuel injection, and V-TEC, the price just went up and up and up. Honda NEEDS a street oriented (read: not a repliracer) sportbike that is affordable and appeals to those of us who want a bike with sportbike STYLE but is first and foremost a STREET bike, not a RACE bike. Sort of the same crowd Yamaha is going after with their FZ6R. How about bringing back the Honda CBR600F4i, just with redone ergos?
October 8, 2009 at 2:13 pm #22709briderdtParticipantHonda has a 250 Hornet that sells… elsewhere. Aprillia does too.
And these manufacturers just HAND the entire market segment of the US to Kawasaki and the Ninja 250.
I don’t get it.
October 9, 2009 at 10:44 pm #22763RabParticipantYes, I too have wondered why Honda hadn’t addressed the hole in their line-up with a middle weight street bike like the Nighthawk 650 or Hornet, but now, I guess they have with the NT700V.
Apparently, the NT700V is the long-in-the-tooth Euro-model Honda Deauville which has had its V-Twin Engine enlarged to 680 c.c. It’s pretty heavy and the non-detachable hard saddle-bags (side-cases) don’t hold much. There are accessory lids available which make them more capacious, but these are apparently very expensive. Nice that there’s an ABS version available, but it’s only available in the silver color, not the red (my favorite). Nice instrumentation too.
Anyway, the Deauville is, by all accounts, a comfortable, solid, reliable and frugal commuter/sport-tourer (although some in the sport bike fraternity have dubbed it the Honda Dullsville).
Whatever, I like the look of it and might consider one when the time comes to replace my Suzuki GSX650F (which is essentially a fully-faired version of the Euro-model Bandit 650 standard).
With gas prices going through the roof, it looks like the American market is finally seeing motorcycles as viable transportation as opposed to status symbols and toys.
October 9, 2009 at 11:44 pm #22766RabParticipantI know that Suzuki’s announced a fully faired version of the Bandit 1250 for 2010.
Definitely not a newbie bike though

They went back to the Paint department and did much better. I don’t see any silly fashion models either… whew!
And for the other bikes…

Now we must wait a few more weeks before Suzuki USA announces what WE get to have…
“Oh lord who rides a mighty bike of flamithing wheels and thunderous exhaust! I am a man of meager and honest means, saving for his first bike. I will work hard and savith each penny if you send me, and my American brothers, a Gladius in Red (or silver) Paint and the option of ABS brakes! Thankyou.”
October 18, 2009 at 7:27 pm #22937stuParticipantyeah this came up on the sv forum. check out the spelling at the bottom right of the page screen apparently its legit tho.
not sure how many of the colors will be coming to NA, as NA didnt get all the same colours as rest of world in 09. I do like the all red version tho The blue looks darker but who knows.
I dont think there are any technical changes from 09 glad to 10 glad.
japan is getting a 400cc gladius… that would be nice but mostly it seems wrapped in the 650cc frame so you’d still have the weight/size of the 650 with the 400cc engine.
October 19, 2009 at 7:10 am #22943eternal05ParticipantSeriously? All they managed to change was the paint? Psh…looks worse now.
October 27, 2009 at 2:53 pm #23027nok610ParticipantThat makes two of us.

Same great models. Color choices are ok, but not great. The prices are higher.
It’s kind’a neat to see them offering the GS500. It looks just like the GS500F, only stripped of the fairings.November 4, 2009 at 5:53 am #23161eonParticipantDanggit. I just typed a long rant on how the price of the DL650 had jumped from $8000 to $9500. I was full of righteous indignation when something told me it just did not make sense. Double checked that link and it is to the Canadian website. Doh!
Here is the USA site. Prices are still the same (in fact everything looks the same) on the WeeStrom. Dunno about the other bikes.
http://www.suzukicycles.com/Product%20Lines/Cycles.aspx?year=2010EDIT: Scrub that link. It is not showing 2010 models. I followed someone else’s link yet again without double checking it. Time to go lie down now.
November 4, 2009 at 3:05 pm #23163JackTradeParticipant…and got all exicited that Suzuki was bringing back the naked GS500. I was all set to post here on how naked bikes are the best, then noticed the Canada suffix on the link. Damn!
Still, I could see Suzuki bringing the naked 500 back to the states if they’re already selling in Canada. I like the blue and black version on the website, and (no offense to the Gladius), the streamlined look.
