Speedy RodriguezParticipant
…and cut ye ears off, end of problem.
Speedy RodriguezParticipantand been through torrential downpours. Have the right duds ready and slow down a little. In the summer it’s almost fun…
Speedy RodriguezParticipant…there *is* a Santa Clause…
Congrats.
Speedy RodriguezParticipantYou could achieve the same effect as hand guards by using Gore-Tex gloves specifically made for motorcycling. I actually use Gore-Tex ski gloves, and while this is not the smartest idea (as they have no armor/impact protection), they have kept my hands warm in temperatures down to 30 deg F.
Speedy RodriguezParticipantand congrats!
Speedy RodriguezParticipantOnce you get used to the wind, you’ll start to enjoy it, then loosen up on the death grip. Then the fly screen can do what it does best: kill flies.
Speedy RodriguezParticipantI took the MSF course in 2008, bought a 2009 650R in May and couldn’t be happier. I think it was the perfect purchase for a new rider such as myself. Just don’t rush things, get to know the bike over the first few thousand miles, and then you’ll be riding like champ. Very beginner-friendly, but with plenty of power to provide the adrenaline rushes when the time is right for you.
Plus, it’s great for long trips on the highway with again, plenty of power to spare.
Speedy RodriguezParticipantCould’ve been a rattlesnake in the boot…
Speedy RodriguezParticipantNamaste.
Speedy RodriguezParticipant…crossed the road 100 yards away from me about three weeks ago, while riding up the side of–you guessed it–Bear Mountain in NYS.
There were also a lot of deer out there that day–and they were absolutely unafraid of people in cars, bikes, or on foot while they were eating.
Speedy RodriguezParticipantLove her…
Speedy RodriguezParticipantCome into NYC where motorcycles are target practice for every yellow cab and car service tank on the street. They act as if they don’t see you, and I’ll bet in half the cases they really don’t.
In any event, traffic jams are not unique to urban areas (though they occur more frequently) and are a big pain no matter how many wheels someone is steering.
Speedy RodriguezParticipantWell I bought a new 2009 Ninja 650, and since I had had no experience on a bike since the MSF course the year before, I wasn’t used to the extra 100 lbs and laid it down in the parking lot of the dealership, lol.
Tiny little scratch on the crankcase, and a scuff on the outside edge of the left mirror, so I got lucky. 3500 miles later, I haven’t had a mishap since (or should I say–yet?)…
Speedy RodriguezParticipant…in the USA. Something to consider when you look at the difficulties Hyosung owners have had in this country.
Speedy RodriguezParticipant…and to add my two cents, I had plenty of opportunities and blew them via drug addiction and other bad choices. So here I am in my mid-forties and, after three years of personal disaster, Lady Luck (and hard work) is smiling on me again.
Point being, it’s never too late, and certainly too early to tell–when they are that young…
