Su¢k it up, jayman, and stop being such a wimp. Motorcycles aren’t for wimps anyway.

Welcome aboard! I’m in DFW also. I’d recommend taking the MSF course.

Chris, I am a new rider in the DFW area. If you’re looking for a Kawi, I would definitely recommend Kawasaki City in Irving or Lancaster. They have the OTD (out the door) prices listed on the bikes and mine was well under MSRP OTD. They’re both owned by the same guy and I bought mine at the Lancaster store but I have found the people at the Irving store to be outstanding. Good luck!

Sounds like someone’s gonna be doing a lot of riding. Have fun!

Smoke, I saw you posted on my thread so I had to see what bike you bought. That Hyosung is a good looking bike and half the price of my 900. I bet it’ll be a good bike for a newbie. Try not to get caught up in what everyone else has. I’ve found myself thinking I could have gone bigger or smaller but in reality, the bike that I got is going to be mine for awhile and I love it. What color did you get? Be sure and come back and post after you’ve ridden it and let us know how it’s going.

I hit 2000 miles today on the way to work. Also, I recently rode two-up a couple of times. It is definitely different but I have not encountered any problems yet. Oh, and yeah, I’m still loving it! ;-)

I bought some Icon boots for $40. (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/499/MNGR/Icon.aspx) You might have to get them in tan but IMO they’re a great boot for $40.

I also bought a pair of Teknic Stinger Waterproof Boots for $59. (http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/cruiser/cruiser+boots/teknic_stinger+waterproof+boots+-+sizes+43+to+47) They are easier to get on (velcro) and very comfortable.

    Those are two reasonable options.

Amoryl, I just think it would be tough to prove the intent of the game was to make WeaponZero wreck. I am in no way justifying what the kids were doing or saying that the family shouldn’t pony-up some money, I am merely saying that proving it was their fault might be difficult.

I wanted to check in and share a big milestone with the good people here. 1000 miles! Yea! LOL. I never thought I’d ride a thousand miles in the first 26 days but I did. No big trips. Just some fun solo cruises and a decent amount of commuting to and from work. I am totally in love with riding and I love riding that Custom.

A couple of pics from 7/16/08…

That sucks and I would be fuming if it were me but… Although it would be nice if Daddio paid the bill, I can’t imagine he could actually be forced to pay. But I tell you what, if they had laughed at me after I had wrecked, I would have had to exhibit some serious self-control. So kudos to you for not going postal on their little arses and I’m glad you’re okay.

    Hey diddle diddle,
    the cat and the fiddle,
the Kaw jumped over the moon.

Oh, and about your bike, it’s not still under warranty?

Is it the stadium parking lot on Valwood in Carrollton?
