Hello everybody,

I found this site while searching the web for information about motorcycle basics. I have read alot of the different articles on here and have learned alot already. I’m 16 and looking to get my first bike (right now i’m thinking about a kawasaki ninja 250 or 500) I would love any advice or comments you more advanced riders might have about selecting the right bike. Also if anyone knows of a good place to find used bikes (I don’t see much point in spending alot of money on a first bike when you might decide you don’t like riding or you crash it) that would be a great help too!

I just got an 07 Ninja and it does the job. Its fun to ride, has a 4.8 gallon tank and is easy to maneuver. Try craigs list and any local classifieds.

Chris, I am a new rider in the DFW area. If you’re looking for a Kawi, I would definitely recommend Kawasaki City in Irving or Lancaster. They have the OTD (out the door) prices listed on the bikes and mine was well under MSRP OTD. They’re both owned by the same guy and I bought mine at the Lancaster store but I have found the people at the Irving store to be outstanding. Good luck!
