Participantwhen you go to get your suspension setup, they should do both the front and rear. they might suggest going with gsx-r forks but play with whatever adjustments they make to the front for a while first, because replacing the front with gsx-r stuff is quite a bit more $$$.

Participantoh. very nice. you should be able to play with that rear suspension quite a bit. When you change your tire, get your suspension dialed in. It should only cost you about 40 bucks max (that’s the price out here in cali).

Participantmost likely suspension not dialed in for his body type. unfortunately for sv’s pre-2007, the stock suspension and damping isn’t that good at all. it’s better on post-2007 models, but still not that good and still not a whole lot you can do to it. improper suspension can cause tires to wear quicker.

Participanti’d suggest if you’re gonna go pilot, you change the front to pilots too. tires are usually made to go with the other tire. You might encounter stability issues if your rear is a different make/model than your front.

Participantuse html img tag.
example:
<img src=”URL_TO_IMAGE” />
make sure that backslash is in the tag.

Participantnot slippery at all really. the dealer still adhere to the 100 mile tire break in thing, but i was taking the twisties almost immediately. either way, i’m pretty impulsive, so you might want to take it easy on new tires for the first 100 miles.

ParticipantAs long as the main use of the earbud’s are for hearing protection, you should be fine. a wierd little loophole in california law. So technically, using the default ipod ear buds would be illegal, using decible reducing earbuds (even with music going haha) would be fine. IANAL.

Participantyup. downright addicting this motorcycle thing. After my hand heals up, i’m taking my one good bike back up to highway 49 and I’m gonna get that double apex hairpin turn down. It’ll probably take you no time to get all the muscle memory back, just need a bit of practice. good luck out there and wb to riding.

Participantunfortunately, there’s not street view of the turn. Google maps doesn’t accurately show the turn either. The simplest thing to think about a double apex is to think of a curve but with the middle flattened so there’s 2 corners. The one i hit was and uphill decreasing radius except the exit didn’t completely straighten. At the end of what i thought the exit was at was another left corner kink that hairpinned upwards. The kink’s where I ran it wide into the gravel and luckily not off the cliff. It’s not something that’s easily envisioned in 2d. If you could stand in the midpoint of the first corner, you’d be able to see the second corner going up and wrapping around the mountain. Yeh, it was a group ride.
