MaxDadAKParticipant
I’m an Ex Paratrooper with the 1-501st Task Force and now I’m in contract security for DHS. Basically all the responsibility of the police but only with federal contracts. Not a bad living though. Get to deal with all the crazies that assume that all their life’s problems are obviously inside federal buildings. I mean come on haven’t you seen X-Files?! It’s all a big conspiracy. I’m talking tin foil hats and all. If it’s not some one trying to blow me up while I’m driving down the road, or shooting at me from rooftops, it’s some local trying to stab me because I’m “The Man”
MaxDadAKParticipantDefinately! Every morning is christmas all over again. Starting to get up earlier than necessary so I can find new and longer ways to and from work. LoL
MaxDadAKParticipantAll you need to do now is have one built similiar to that take it to a Comicon and raffle it off at $1000 a ticket. Guarantee it’ll make you some cash and some WoW admiration.
MaxDadAKParticipantAll valid ideas except for chat I think. Forums allow concise responses because of the open ended time for them. Chat is nice and can be fun but often times becomes a mess of conversations overlapping eachother. If you think junk posting is crap wait till someone decides to spam a whole chat room.
MaxDadAKParticipantEarlier this week we had a woman fall off a bike and get pulled under a double trailered semi on the Glenn Highway. What I later found out was that she was not the operator of the bike. Her boyfriend who didn’t take any kind of course and was showing off accidentally dropped his partner on the road while trying to wheelie. The boyfriend and his GSXR are just fine and the girlfriend survived but is uncouncious in intensive care awaiting multiple surgeries. Safety only works if you apply it. Make BRC mandatory and include some nice aftermath footage and testimonials of those who made mistakes and those who suffer because of them. Not so much as a scare tactic as much as it would let them know the risks they take and how their actions on the road affect everyone around them. If you don’t know the risks and how to minimize them when applicable how can you ride safely among us.
MaxDadAKParticipantIf your staying in a budget but want the jacket to hold up I strongly reccomend First Gear’s Bravado jacket. Since I didn’t have my bike yet when I made the purchase I took it out as a substitute while snow machining. While it’s not designed for that I can attest to it’s warmth and wind resistance. 70mph on a frozen lake at 19 degrees and I had a little chill creep in but that was it. It has two bicep vents two chest vents, and two back shoulder vents all of which have helped keep me cool. Fairly priced at $179.00 it’s an excellent buy plus First Gear has been known to replace jackets if they helped save you in a crash.

MaxDadAKParticipantI think they need to increase fines and punishments for those who cause accidents while on the phone in any capacity. Have a buddy who’s been riding for a few years and uses his bluetooth ear piece while riding. Can’t believe some people consider phone useage while operating any vehicle as a safe decision.
MaxDadAKParticipantLoL.
MaxDadAKParticipantNah you got a point of them looking like motorcycle boots. I was thinking about how he stated he’d were slacks over them. I’ve worn them under some jeans like regular boots and if you don’t know what to look for they just look like some fancier everyday boots.

That little voice that says just push it a little further always gets drowned out when I think of him. Keep’s me safe from myself and gives me the best reason to be as safe as possible in all things. I figure by the time he’s responsible enough ,and if the 250’s still running, he’ll inherit her as his first. I’d like that to be something me and him can enjoy together for a long time to come. I’d rather him take a little risk out there with his dad on a ride than spend all day texting and staring at the TV waiting for life to happen like alot of youngins do now adays. Get’em out of the house and get’em truly involved with life.
MaxDadAKParticipantYeah I’ve been looking around latlely and can’t seem to find a video that supports that it’s actually rideable. Ten buck says Jay Leno buys one just cause.
MaxDadAKParticipantIf your looking for something more subdued that doesn’t scream motorcycle boot you should look at these SIDI Rain Ways. A little higher in price:$200 but you do get what you pay for. Light weight, waterproof and comfortable. I will warn you the boots are super stiff out of the box but break in very nicely.

MaxDadAKParticipantHeard a possible myth that when it rains oil left on the road mixed with the rain can make super slick spots on the asphalt. Any truth to this or any other rain riding myths/taboos?
